Those are some nice changes but I don’t think are enough to compete against 10. Though they are enough to match your 8s instead of the old 7.5s

      1. \/\/6/\Y/\/\!/\/6/\/!663Rz says:

Have you not seen how shitters make fail toons bringing pref mm tanks into battles outside their range? E25s in t9 battles, KV5s in t10…..

    1. Partybooper says:

I think it’s very interesting that people still think these tanks are going to lose their PMM. It was stated for months now that they will keep their PMM, in dozens of articles, here and on the portal. Basically everywhere.

      1. No but in the case of the sp/is6 & 112 they all meet t9s now and often 175 mm vs a t9 is not fun 182 is not that much better but workable the armour buffs are nice but its still going to be shit in a 112 or an is6 when you turn a corner and are greeted by derpzilla type 4 heavy

^^ this it’s big and has 0 armor it used to be good and it could bully tanks. But now any tank it meets has no problem fighting it

  2. Mikosah says:

These tanks do need buffs, and it is good that they keep their limited MM. The only problem is that they’ll still be very uncomfortable to play in the current armor meta unless their pen is raised much higher.

Imagine for instance if the JT88’s APCR became its standard shell. Would that make it OP? Absolutely not, yet it would become much more comfortable.

    1. sorry best laugh i have had in ages wg giving back money hahahha ahh i needed that. I have had my main account banned because i asked for a refund for the is6 long story short after appealing twice and getting trading standards involved they refunded me and then instantly banned my account. Bottom line wg only care if you are buying prem tanks or buying gold otherwise fuck off in wg mind.

  3. Avandar Avalon says:

so t34-3 is a “bowler” but type59 gets more armor + more of everything else except alfa
i guess monkeys are working on this “rebalance” because i refuse to think humans can be so stupid

  4. Partybooper says:

In my humble opinion, my Type 59 does work good even without these changes.
Keep in mind, these tanks should not have the same average damage like your tier 8 tanks with standard matchmaking, because overall, they end up in matches where there is less damage to be made in the entire enemy team. If you have an average damage in these tanks which is between the average damages of your tier 7s and tier 8s, congratulations, the tank is working as intended.

And while I agree that the 3/5/7 template sucks and that because of the current MM rules the PMM tanks usually end up in 5 tier 9 tank and 10 tier 8 tank matches (worst case MM for these tanks), I still prefer this a million times over the 3/5/7 in my standard MM tier 8s, because they end up in a tier 10 game 90% of the time (yes, it’s that bad!).

I love knowing that there are only 5 tanks max in every match which are of a higher tier than myself, instead of 8 tanks which are one and even 2 tiers higher. It’s a relief.

Considering that, I do appreciate that my Type 59 will get even better. That’s nice and will make the tank even more fun to play, because I don’t think the changes will make it OP.

    1. Fioretzcarraldo says:

So they thing that rising the penetration of “122mm soviet style guns” from 175 to 182 will make this heavy tanks more effective against Tier 10 tanks? Just, think about that, what’s a WZ-111 (or a KV-5, 112, IS-6, you name it) supposed to do agaist a Tier 10 heavy tank with just 182mm of pen and litterally no chance to flank or get around? At least a Patriot has a decent 230mm of penetration and overall stats, and the same goes for the Defender and the Guard, but remember that all of those tanks will have the very same MM.

      1. Partybooper says:

You do realize that they will keep their PMM?
It is discussed in the comments section in every article, including this one, for months now.

So they just get buffed. Pure, clean buffs. No hidden nerfs.
        Now evaluate again.

      2. Fioretzcarraldo says:

I don’t think so. They want to change the Pref. MM Tanks to make the MM work better: this will only happen if they decide to eliminate the idea of a Preferential MM. The “buff” of the Pref. MM tanks will be made only in order to make them work with a regular MM.

      3. Partybooper says:

        No…
WG realized they will cause a huge sh*tstorm when they take the PMM off of the BOUGHT tanks, which was and is, for quite a lot of customers (including myself), the main and maybe even only reason why they bought these tanks.

They will not remove it. Sometimes WG makes stupid decisions, but they will not try to do that again (if they are smart).

  5. The Tier 8 PMM tanks were designed to see T9 sometimes and get top tier MM this in the old MM system where they would routinely fight Tiers 8, 7 and 6 ~ the new 3-5-7 MM Template forces them into fighting T9’s some are very OP now, and newer T8’s some are OP to the old T8 PMM

  6. I dont agree with adding additional armor if those tanks didn’t actually have those values. Tweak them with soft stat bonuses, dpm, terrain passability. Dont just slap an extra 20-30mm on it like you did with the Type 4. Come on WG

  7. Anonymous says:

Why are they buffing the weakspots on the kv5? That was never the problem. The turret front being a autopen for most tanks its own tier and up was the problem, make them actually have to aim at the weakspots.

  8. Anonymous says:

If they keep preferential MM, they will be OP af. I have 2.7k average damage in KV-5 per battle, similarly 2k+ with IS-6, really good tanks… after these changes, they will be invincible xD

  9. Jasper115 says:

I personally don’t think the FCM 50t is not it a good position. It’s not as strong as a lot of tanks but it is still useable unlike the kv5. I am glad for all the changes though

  10. The Mutant really does not need the cupola buff…
Make another “unable to kill from the front because that is the current meta” tank WG…

When I meet it in games the avr damage blocked exeeds 3,5K, so I have no idea where WG has the brains in order to buff it… It could use more pen, but that is all…

There must be a reason why it has been sold 3 times, overall…

    Good job WG!

  11. hvd2 says:

I know this article is on pmm tanks, but I have to mention that most of those buffs make them better than the tech-tree counterpart. Mutant vs T32? Is6 vs T44 (with that gun)? I mean, please buff the other tanks, which use the same gun, at least to the same pen values. They actually have to face tier 10!!!

  12. and i’m sitting here with my T34…
    yesterday i played 20 battles in my non pref mm t8 premiums (t34, t44-100, t25 pilot), and 16 times vs. T10 + 4 times vs. T9…
and yes, t34 is a great tank agains t6-7-8, but vs. t9 and t10 its dpm is garbage, turret traverse, aim time and other stats are shit…

    1. NoComment says:

T 34 has T10 levels of pen on its gun and reasonable armour. Its far better suited at fighting T9/10 than most T8 tanks premium or not. Its a T8 Ht and isn’t supposed to be on an even playing field vs higer tiers…otherwise what is the point in having them?

      1. Anonymous says:

The armor is trash anymore. Idiots just spam HE which does ludicrous damage because the hull has no armor and TDs have such high pen that your pretend armor doesn’t work. The t34 used to be strong but has been power creeped Into a joke

      2. Really the t 34 is best suited to fighting t 9 and t10 out of all the premiums nope that would be the scorpion g and the wz 120-1 td. Out of all the t8 heavy premiums that face t10s honestly I would rather be in the patriot or the french m49 in the case of the patriot it has rate of fire and decent turrent with workable frontal hull armour in the case of the m49 it has a strong turret good frontal hull armour and unlike the t 34 it has a rate of fire.
