Aimbot Mods seen as “Improved aim” by EU Support

147

Hello,

A fellow European Community contributor, Mistercro (which I have to thank, he was the one that sent this, including screenshots) received a replay from a player who uses aimbot mod and made a YouTube video:

I downloaded and watched the replay as well, not to discredit Mistercro but to give a second evaluation and I’m 100% in agreement with him, the player is indeed using an aimbot mod.

*Edit* Note: Locked aiming from WoT doesn’t move around searching for best weakspots like it does here, it stays locked in the center of the target.

Battle Results:

The community has the misconception that aimbot mods are useless (even I believed so) but the reality is that the player made nearly 8k Damage. And yes, perhaps he could have done same damage if he wasn’t a lazy git and actually aimed but don’t forget that these mods auto-aim at crucial weakspots of the opponent vehicles, driving around and press click is the only brain usage he is doing.

A player wrote a ticket to EU support team over this replay, the answer he got was expected but doesn’t stop being alarming:

(…) this player is using autoaim improved/autoaim+, this mod is capable of aiming this way. (…) Even though this mod can help with aiming, it is not considered a cheat or a illegal mod.

Of course there are other offices that have a list of illegal mods/cheats but in an entire life as a gamer, this is the only company that I have recollection of letting shit like this to fly by.

This is actually creating other problems, the fact that Wargaming EU does absolutely nothing to police these (and although there is no way to 100% control it, some care is still better than nothing), random players started harassing and reporting the good players who actually do an effort by accusing them of being cheaters. And yes, these accusations are happening on every server, but I receive feedback and have as much NA as EU readers/viewers and the amount of players affected belong largely to EU server.

Wargaming EU, please.

Glorious EU. While you’re at it, declare WarPack to be legal too, so all the pr0 l33t violent stet pedders can use it too

    • Shade01982 says:

Wouldn’t surprise me if they gave the same response to tickets about Warpack.

    • They already did years ago. WGEU are cheat friendly.

    • Mizutayio says:

Well i hsed that aim mod myself and most of the time it was more of annoyance for me, it’s pretty much only helpful if you’re in a really fast tank which loves to do the circle of death.
In anything else it’s annoying at best. Want to aim at a corner with an enemy right behind it and you want to look arround you while pointin at that corner to plant a shot into the enemys front drivewheel if he makes a move?
Impossible unless you want to autoaim at the enemywhich throws your aim off.

  2. bla says:

EU support are just dumfucks, you always have to write them 4-5 tickets to get your simple problems solved.
I am not suprised that they say its just auto aim+, they wouldnt recognise a moving truck until it hit them.

    • MxE says:

I’m sorry to have to correct you, but the 2 Tickets I submitted were answered (and “solved”) in under 3 Days. Then again, I have no Idea what kind of Tickets you were submitting, but the Systems seems to work quite alright.

      • R03 says:

Works My ass. I sent them already tickets about 20 topics. Here is how it works:
        1. Template answer
        2. Template answer
        3. Complaining why am i swearing and threatening with punishment
        4. Template answer
        5. A non template answer which is neither usable

They are not even able to speak english ffs

      • party1c says:

“solved”? you mean like “oh look the kid is drowning lets wait until its dead its easier to get it out of the pool then”-solved?

  3. Shade01982 says:

There may be no foolproof way to control it, but the WoWs team has found a way to effectively disable all aim assist mods as of 0.5.3.0. Well, up until modders find a way around it, but at least they are working on it.

  4. Anonymous says:

I would never do that simply because I do not want to give the control of MY tank to someone else (the bot). It’s my tank, nobody else is allowed to control it!

  5. Anonymous says:

Can I just say, beautiful new website!

  6. SMAC15 says:

I would never use it simply because I don’t want to give the control of MY tank to someone else (the bot).
Also pressing W and then clicking the mouse would be pretty boring.

  7. Rombat says:

You are such out of the reality if you think that weakspotaimboots are harmles. They are a more of a problem than ghostshel or shells eated by tracks or other wg fantasies…this is the daily reality where yellow players who want to be purples arms themselvs with this kind of mods and autoloaders and start to ruin your day….not doing damage but ruin your tank, by shooting ammorack shot after shot, leting you in fire even if you extinguished flames fisrt time or killing commander or driver repeatedly….or by penetrating you without aim from the other side of the map….
I bet that this kinf of players don’t have a clue about where ammorack of a tank is but he has a lot of ammorack hits than a purple player…
Wg is doing nothing because they need players…all…a player banned for cheating is a player who leave wg for the other competitors…Armoured Warfare and the second, they never admit to fail especially when it comes of cheats in their game…in wot there are no cheats and neither bots…do you remember?

    • They need players…I agree with you but if Wg do nothing about this, the clean players are gonna leave the game….

    • vochinsky74 says:

Hi ,im a purple player. Theres nothing this aimbot can do that i cant do better. First of all,the heat wasnt really needed anyway.second the targets are all in the open and out of position so thats easy damage there. Third ,the aimbot doesnt target modules, it targets weakspots. This is actually a disadvantage imo ,you wont always have good enough pen for certain weakspots and it would be best to shoot a different one. With this mod you dont ha e the choice to choose either the better weakspot,or the weakspot presented at the best angle.

    • Mouryn says:

U just got no clue about how the game mechanics works if u say shit like that. Honestly plp at least try to CHECK the shit u claim.

      Steps for understanding:
      1. Read this ” http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Battle_Mechanics#Aiming “.
      2. Understand how absurd your point is.
      3. If you do not see a stupidity in your post go back to point 1 and redo.

Repeat until u understand at least basics of the game mechanics.

I dont use mods, i aim better than a guy on this video. If he want to use some kind of shit aim i dont care, he will still play low, and die if he face me.

  8. AlmightySpaghettiMonster says:

wow nice your featuring Mistercro here even thou all the stuff from above is the work of Laponak, a OMNI youtuber…

if its because Mister hide it on purpose or not this is not cool and should be corrected…

  10. Lapac says:

Thank you Rita for sharing this and i am glad that that player sent me that replay, really hope that this could make WG move their asses and actually do something about “improved autoaim” mod that is “100% legit”

  11. Nemanja says:

Well WG said that they will listen to the comunity, so let us say this is ILLEGAL and see what they do…. Also if you want I have the replay of players rigging the mission, if you want to show it.

  12. Anonymous says:

Great…now people who are legitimately good at aiming will be reported by more people who think they’re using an aimbot.

  13. Quaksen says:

    Aimbot?… You’re kidding right?
From what I saw in that video, it’s just using: http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/441413-0913-autoaim-indicationsnapping/
AKA, the autoaim already in the game, with an improvement…

    • bla says:

look at this idiot thinking autoaim+ leads targets and aims after spotting range ends

its an aimbot plain and simple

      • Quaksen says:

Calling me an idiot? How low can you go, really?…
Jump to conclusions just a bit more, eh?…

      • Quaksen says:

At a glance it looked very much like the mod I linked, sue me for posting about it, your behavior was totally uncalled for, there’s no need for you to turn Rita’s blog into a damn cesspool.

      • Matthew Shine says:

You think Quak is an idiot for mistaking the mod, yet that is exactly what WGEU support think the guy is using, and they are supposed to know what the fuck they are talking about, lol.

    • Quaksen says:

Actually, a reply on the video does make it more likely to be an aimbot, and the WG crew being dumb… it doesn’t say target gets locked, whenever he autoaims them, so, yeah… I can see why WG would think it’s the mod I linked though.

    • Anonymous says:

Sure, without even going into snipermode and playing and pulling off shots like that, so legal..

    • John Connor says:

Jeez ppl. I thought the same as Quaksen at first until i examined the video one more time. Take it ez

  14. Quaksen says:

Didn’t say I looked at the entire video in every little detail, did I?

Anyways, I already changed my statement, there’s no need for people like “BLA” to call me an idiot at all. Jesus. Didn’t expect this kind of behavior on your blog, Rita.

    • Rita Sobral says:

      Guys hakuna the tatas please.

    • Havoc199 says:

Whine more quack. All you done in this entire post. Not to mention you were wrong anyway.

Stop whining and them getting pissy about it when someone says something to you. Man the fudge up.

      • Havoc199 says:

Oh and sorry Rita. Feel free to delete previous comment if you think it was too far.

      • Quaksen says:

Learn to spell. And then man up yourself. Your only post is to something that I already corrected. I didn’t look at the entire video, because I have better things to do. Read, and understand. It’s quite simple.

      • Quaksen says:

Quite funny how you seem to think that I whined about something. Is that the go-to insult after “your mother” or similar? Hehe…

    • Havoc199 says:

Lolz. Don’t watch the entire thing and by your own admission not in detail. How can you then claim anything about it and then whine because someone called you an idiot or whatever.

And what’s the need to be a grammar nazi? You think I actually care if I spell correctly? I don’t have the time nor give enough of a shit to do that.

      • Quaksen says:

I didn’t whine about anything. I didn’t expect Rita’s blog to be a cesspool though, with the likes of you.
It looked very much like the mod I linked, sue me.
Had enough time and gave enough of a shit to cry about my posts though. Heh. Didn’t have enough time to read, before you posted though. Shame.

  15. vipercann says:

so? are you still surprising when you see people using aimbots… come on 🙂

  16. panerakis says:

This is fishy to say the least. But really, having those catchy titles really makes the whole thing look really unprofessional.

Now on to the problem in hand , having this kind of tool in your hands is really powerful, but I would prefer some rundown of how it works in some training room and it’s actual effectiveness in battle , rather than just footage from it. It seemed to perform really great on stationary targets, it didn’t seem to be really aiming for weakspots, (prove me wrong), it seemed like auto-aim that is already in the game, which is already pretty strong.

    • panerakis says:

Also, if you do some research there is this mod called Auto-aim Extender or whatever, that allows you to snap to auto-aim to the target that is closer to you, or according to your own customization.

So the ticket is pretty much a bust, there is nothing really useful coming from it. They do not have a policy for mods on the EU server, so we shouldn’t really expect something from them in the first place. Now if that is the correct way to fight illegal mods, is a different story. (Yeah of course they have to do something about it, this policy is complete bullshit.)

    • Rita Sobral says:

The tittle tells exactly what to expect out of the article, an unprofessional title would be something like “Gotcha!” case from The Sun newspaper: http://www.sterlingtimes.co.uk/gotcha1.htm

But while I agree with some of your points, these aimbots do seek for weakspots/hitboxes like engine or ammorack.

      • Anonymous says:

yep. especially while playing against FAMEous clans, that guys could aim so good that they could shoot your ammo rack/tack 2-3 times in a row even if you are going full speed.

and noone could set a surprise attack against that FAMEous clans because all of them using destructible items mods.

and nowadays people are not even deny they are using that mods. i heard too much people saying “there is not a banned mods list in EU server, so these mods are legal, so stfu and play”

    • CultusWoT says:

When you consider the number of shots fired by the player throughout the match, vs. the number of penning hits, the regular autoaim would not have been able to do that by just aiming center of mass. Not in a million years. Also, you see it very clearly compensating for the target’s movement when firing at the IS-3 going down the hill when it aims ahead and then jumping back on target once he pulls the brakes. The number of times he so much as puts his cursor over an enemy tank can be counted on one hand. He could play the entire game and never really ‘learn’ how to play a single tank. Shell velocity and aiming characteristics. Everything is done for him.

  17. Viking says:

I do have a question though:
Why doesn’t WG just pull of a “CS” Method of revealing Cheaters?
For those who is blank on what I’m saying: Overwatch on WOT.
Basically, those who had played enough and are trusted enough by the community will get a notification that they are needed to watch a clip to determinant a “suspect” for cheating. If there are reason to suspect it, they will, after they have watched the clip, get a check-list to send in to WG.
IF they cross out that suspected mods/cheats have been used and the result from others are the same, the suspect will get banned.

With the WOT replays function, it should have been easy.
    Just a though.

    • Havoc199 says:

Over watch feature is very useful in Cs go. However I don’t think any part of the WoT community has the ability to do this without.

There are plenty morons who report me for blinds hotting obvious bushes etc. Not to mention people with over 40k games who report me because I set two tanks on fire in one game.

WoT community is very different from Cs go. Much more communication is used there and more trustable people. In WoT there is too much rage because of the bs game systems and I have a feeling someone might just take it out on someone and abuse their powers.

That’s just my thought anyway. Works great in Cs go. Here I have a feeling it won’t.

      • Viking says:

That’s true, I will admit. However, you do also have the same abuse on CS:GO, but it occurs less frequent. I have heard time and time again that some in OverWatch have the rather “One lucky shot = Cheats in use” mentallity and of course that could be miss used.
In World of tanks, where I have been reported for cheating(Apperently flanking a IS-3 with a T-34-3 is a hack) I can see this system been abused like no day tomorrow. However, to the current status where EU Support just “hand wave” the issue, I would say this is at least a improvement.
Beside, If we make it that only “Fluffy UNI-players” can see it, like Quickybaby, wouldn’t it be better?
again, it’s all a though that I’m trowing out there.

      • Havoc199 says:

I definitely agree with you. Better than nothing. I’m just scared it would be abused hard.

Would definitely agree that it would have to be done by high level players so they don’t ban you for aiming at the engine of a tank or flanking (Yes people have tried reporting me for that).

On the other hand they aren’t infallible and after a bad day and some rage it might be taken out on someone.
Personally I don’t like QB very much. Off stream he is know to rage hard. Plus playing with his clan showed me anot her side of him. Anyway I don’t need to go into all that, nitpicking there really…

      • Viking says:

        *Edit:
Just realized you mention it about “Fluffy UNI-players” also being arseholes as well, but the point still stands.

    • Drama Queen says:

Ur kidding right? Or it just happens that you forgot how good unsportsmenlike conduct report was working?! U wanna know what kind of clips you would watch there on overwatch? Like 90% from top clans this is not CS GO to make something like that.

    • Spitfire1911 says:

Problem with that the “trusted players” would be players in the bigger clans which would have a bias and most likely use cheat mods themselves.

  18. Rick says:

Nobody mentioned the shot he got where enemy was even behind the horizon. How many times have you been shot where you thought your hull wasnt exposed?I been noticing this more often now. They have to fix by removing all mods and mod res folder.

  19. MotornaTestera says:

This is huge problem for game. I know few really great player who stop playing WoT only becouse this cheats… WG need to do something or game is dead soon!!!

  22. CultusWoT says:

I knew there were some borderline-cheat mods out there, giving players all kinds of advantages over the average XVM-user. However, with this kind of software, the sheer lack of skill required in order to pull of a big result like this becomes only too apparent. How could this be considered simple autoaim improved/autoaim+, when some of the game’s most fundamental mechanics are being compromised? The aim sticks to the target even outside of render distance while STILL targeting weakspots and aiming ahead of targets on the move. Also, you can clearly see that the aimbot is still tracking the E75s movements, even AFTER it has become unspotted.

It makes me sick to the stomach to think how much time, money, and effort I’ve spent on this game when blatant cheaters are allowed to roam free with Wargaming’s blessing.

It’s good to see contributors up in arms about this. If enough ‘bad press’ is generated by big hitters like Rita, and perhaps especially by YouTubers such as Jingles and QuickyBaby, I hope that the EU-staff would somehow be forced to acknowledge the problem.

  24. V3nn says:

I have the feeling aimbots are more popular than most ppl want to admit.
Especially the last 2 month Ammoracks got more often and even on tanks I never or rarely had them before.
Snapshots in full movement right out of the corner instant detracking you.
Circles harming a module with every shot.

And no there is no conspiracy, only simple mods every one can use called aimbots.

  25. Thomas says:

    So everyone can cheat then?

    • Yup. It’s legal. WG wont punish you. And in fact, if you’re a fred2play player, it is more accessible than gold ammo and actualy everyone can use them.

Someone actualy reported HIMSELF to support woth screenshots of warpack. Support did nothing.

  26. wfschepel says:

I used to be in a clan with a dude who used an aimbot. I generally outdid him with my own, manual aiming. 1st: It doesn’t take a genius to aim for weakspots. 2nd: Shooting is actually a minor part of a good performance, since being at the right place at the right time is MUCH more important. 3rd: From what this guy told me, the mod does tend to lag a little every now and then.

Let’s get one thing straight, I strongly disapprove of mods like this. Even if the importance should not be overstated – and sorry Rita, but if this guy got 8K dmg in, that is 90% good play unless he has a mod driving his tank around, too – I still think it is a cheat. Cheating is bad. Simple as.

The response from WG EU is disappointing, to say the least. No, strike that, it is an example of disgusting ineptitude.

    • wfschepel says:

(If anyone should think I use this piece of garbage… Look for replays from Schepel. You will see I am not using anything beyond xvm to tell me a little about the people playing in my games.)

  27. marianr87 says:

I had quite a few games when enemy tanks popped out of cover and didn’t stop to aim or anything and got shot very fast into the ammo rack on my Centurion AX.
At the angles I was in with regular autoaim they would have hit me in the tracks or nor at all, it was too fast and too well aimed.
I have a feeling this mod is pretty popular. I even heard some people in my former clan discussing about it, apparently some were using it. I was disappointed.

    • marianr87 says:

Though I do admit that the C AX is giant mobile ammo rack….so who knows.

    • Megrin says:

well a lot of tanks like the RU meds and Fattons do have pretty good snapshot ability, you don’t need aimbot to know how snap really.
as for the ammorack, that’s just a CentAX problem.

      • marianr87 says:

That’s true and it can completely be legitimate play, but I have to wonder when somebody hits me just in the right spot if it was skill, luck or the mod. It’s too hard to tell if someone is using it unless you scrutinize the replay. The fact that WG EU sees no problem with it it just…boggles the mind.

Autoaim+ (the one in Aslain’s modpack) is a different mod.

It doesn’t aim at weakspots, it allows to lock the WG provided autoaim by clicking near the enemy vehicle…

this looks like autoaim plus which doesnt actually do anything put use the in game auto aim system but lets you click close to the tank. Aim bots will lead targets for you.

So let me make sure i get this right….all it does …is aim for weakspots….and lead the target. Gee im so glad everyone is so bad that basic gameplay ability is considered cheating.

Theres nothing about this mod that does something a yellow player shouldnt already know or do.
From a purple perspective this mod would be nothing but the most annoying hinderence ever

  38. SEA_survivor says:

WG standards have certainly gone downhill…

Over on the SEA (VN 2.0) server, Tanitha, the “WOT Producer” has
    – gone on the record as saying he considers the best option to be to allow all mods (In response to the community complaining about the players who came over from the Vietnam sever using warpack).
    – Gone out of his way to defend clans who have intentionally abused CW mechanics (fixed battles between subclans, clans advertising for pre-determined battles, etc. in order to farm “fame points” for rewards.)
    – Accepted and defended player(s) as moderators who have openly and proudly acknowledged having bought their accounts.
    – ignored documented evidence of account buying/selling and bot\warpack usage from multiple sources while sanctioning anyone bring the topic up in forums.
    – intentionally provided false and misleading advice to players.

I know of quite a few players who have left or are leaving the game as a result of the way that this server has been mishandled and as WG refuse them the option of switching servers, are unlikely to return.

  39. Anonymous says:

  40. Devils Advocate says:

    Its legal now?

The only way to fix this is for enough people to make new accounts with the auto aimbot so that the entire game is flooded with auto aimbots, making the game ridiculous for T1-T4.

Then maaaaybe, maaaaybe WG EU may do something about it if mods like these hurts their bottom line.

I’m EU cluster server player, playing TD’s and HT only. last times escalating of autoaimer mod is just frustrating most of medium tank users are playing on it, yes all of those aimbots “needs” premium account to work – seriously.

one of my TD has 2x repair kit instead of fire ext. and its getting normal to being hitted by platoon of premium tanks exactly into your weak spots 3 shoots into ammorack when you are moving, angling, turning, or even behind small rock – no problem 3 shoots 1 same place this is how it works…. another time my Ferdinand got raped by 6 trier medium tank… his system was working like 2hits into ammorack then 2 hits into engine then 2 hits into fuel tanks …

BOTS yes bot plague in world of tanks is very very large scale. I were reading about those bot type’s at one of Polish blog. All of those bots also need premium account’s to even start working! yes its true they need to be bought ( the better bots) or you can install them free for some period of time, but they don’t turn in if there is no premium account purchased in WoT …then the autor’s of mods says to use heavy armored premium vehicles to get the best results yes guys its true here is the proof https://worldoftanks.eu/pl/community/accounts/#wot&at_search=dobrytank summary 32 bots with 40% win battles and 2k battles i found them playing my conqueror battle after battle 3 battles in row i meet dobrytank0034, 0037,0035 i made even topic on official polish forum site …

Rita, they only care about money’s (not a player’s), so let’s strike them in THEIR’s week spot with our autoaim, lets make a petition or rather statement (list with nicks who will not suppor WG). That we will not buy prem account’s neither gold or prem tanks, if they will not resolve problem like in that replays

    WOT EU support team.

I’m on my way to gulag salt mine.

    On topic:
KennyMonstah, EU player, aka PeekATracked on YT, got banned because of using what EU support team considers “unfair mods”. I think his video explains better his situation:

WG requested our feedback on forum, i didnt saw to many people complaining about mods. In my opinion , mods have to disappear from game. This is the way to cheat, as long as they are legit always a person with knowledge of programming will create something like that. Mods like “Tundra”, “destruction” and so on , creates a real advantage to the one that is using.

The position of WG can be change only if people like you, QuickyBaby, Jingles will talk about illegal mods. Maybe WG will do something !

I really don’t understand why are you retards such a big bunch of morons…IF THE GAME ALLOWS IT WHY DO YOU DON’T USE IT ..USE the fucking “CHEATS” and stop whining, when its no longer allowed, just stop using SIMPLE.until then see you on the BATTLEFIELD.

Bots are a real plague in WoT. And you can get them everywhere on the internet (http://b4it.org or http://goxwot.blogspot.nl/2015/07/99-autoaim-aaimbot-by-sae-v-175.html, just do a little Google search….). They even come with support (price is mentioned also). And it is my own opinion that all the FAMEous clans use some kind of aim mods (warpack whatever). And those cheats used so commonly used (in combination with the brilliant MM) made that I quite the game I was addicted to. And apperently they are more afraid to lose “high ranked players”, that they dont see that the common players are leaving in huge numbers.
