RUSSIA’S NEW COMBAT ROBOT

21

Hello,

Russia created a robot that looks like a tiny tank called Uran-9:

Unmanned ground combat vehicle, has a 30mm 2A72 automatic cannon, a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun and Ataka ATGMs, hasn’t seen combat yet and at least who built this was smarter than Microsoft because the Uran-9 is remotely controlled and not some Doomsday A.I.

The inclusion of the Ataka missiles gives the diminutive robot the capability to engage and destroy the most modern battle tanks from ranges as great as 8,000 meters. The robots are also fitted with an array of sensors—including a laser warning system and target detection, identification and tracking equipment.

Will be used as support platform and scouting:

And drives over evil walls:

Its planned to enter in service by the end of this year and Russia hopes to export them.

I was about to ask what was that all about. At least the Russians don’t need to feer slightlyu burning sticks and 2 by 4 small walls.

no. watch again on slowest speed and you’ll see it coming out, and then the cylinder object flies, maybe it’s a casing, like bullets have or w/e

That missile is different from the others, the others don’t drop a large cylinder like that. It seems that either it did fail, it’s a (loader?) training round of some sort, or it’s a different type of ATGM. Not really leaning towards it being a failed missile because what came out doesn’t look that much like a missile, but it’s also possible that it’s still in some sort of sheath. It might alternatively be a failed missile that misfired intentionally to demonstrate some sort of failsafe.

What flies out appears to be the end cap for the tube.

All the fun of a full sized tank in a (relatively) bite sized package! I must have one!

it isn’t about how powerful one of this, it’s about how many crazy russians will build and send them to the front line 😀

its not just the russians, this is the way a lot of militaries will be going over the next few decades, equipment is cheaper and quicker to get going than people. Just put all the controllers in bunkers when they cant be hurt and then send in remote controlled armoured combat units.

Basically an RC M113 with mean guns.

I saw an article a few years ago about British remote controlled tanks. The article recommended recruiting players from World of Tanks to drive them 🙂

  8. Maybe add this to Armored Warfare? You wouldn’t ever have to worry about a crew member getting knocked out

  9. the russians have an “interesting” way of appealing to their creations, I once saw a video from a russian tv channel when they compare the T-90 to the M1 Abrams

it would be normal for such a thing to happen because even the americans made videos on how to destroy T-72s with their M60s, but the problem is some of the things that they compare on both tanks that in no way are either objective or actually important during a tank battle

like how the T-90 is “so powerfull that it can jump a few meters forward when going over a ramp”, but that isn’t the reason I can’t forget that video

one CRITICAL point during the whole video was when the journalist stated the differences in the materials of their APFSDS ammo in relation to the one used in the US, it wasn’t because it was more accurate or more powerfull because the only thing that guy cared was about how US ammo is made with RADIOACTIVE materials and GIVES CANCER to US tankers while their own tankers are safe from something like that

everyone knows that the US use DEPLETED metals (like depleted Uranium) on it’s tanks armor, because it’s stronger than steel, but because it is DEPLETED and has close to no arm to us humans, taht stuff is even used as counterweight for civilian aircraft wich is an enclosed environment and something like radiation or virus has much more impact than in the outside

I know it’s because of the “russian bias” (in the sense they think: “everything we do is awesome, the others are just crap”) but how could they mix DEPLETED with ENRICHED Uranium that is the actual material used for nuclear proposes? that’s the stuff that is actually dangerous to us and not some stuff that is even used to cure CANCER or even to make containers that don’t let the radiation of nuclear waste leak

P.S: yes, DEPLETED URANIUM is actually use in radiotherapy

You don’t mix enriched and depleted uranium
Natural uranium is a mix of 99% heavy atoms and 1% lighter uranium atoms
A depleted mix has 99%+ heavy uranium while enriched mix has more than 1% lighter isotope. The lighter the mix the more toxic the metal is but it remains uranium in any case. so how are you sure the US does not use a 99.5% mix in their shells, that even though is quite OK to handle will still be dangerous to loaders in the long term ?
Or maybe you know the information about uranium used in US forces because you work for the pentagon!

Lost in translation or journalistic ignorance, most probably.
Your impression reminds me of the comparison of US and Iraqi military equipment prior to the first engagement between these two. Here the journalist seriously suggested the M1 being superior to an Iraqi T-72 due to having… wait for it… an extra crew member. Yes, that’s right, M1 = 4 crew vs. T-72 = 3 crew… so the M1’d clearly win. Needless to say I went to have a drink rather than continuing watching that utter gobbledygook…
