Rheinmetall Skorpion G, leaked by WG NA Staff

164

Hello,

On EU, everyone is following the guidelines and NDAs imposed, NDAs which are meant to be synced with all other regions to bring players an interesting surprise. But meanwhile, on NA and as it’s been usual, they are just doing whatever the f*ck they want!

I present you the Rheinmetall Skorpion G, leaked by WG NA’s staff:

Not only are they streaming and showing to the public a tank that is meant to be under NDA, but hey! Why not even give a retweet on their official WoT Twitter page too?

You know what saddens me? It’s always EU (although EU is not perfect either) that ends up apologising for things like this that NA does…

    Rita, seriously
Have you read/seen the detailed wording of their NDA?
If not, you should be careful with your accusation. It could very easily be different from what you think it is.
And note, as a matter of fact, it has been leaked by RU before and others while you were off.
I think you are exaggerating in your article here.

    My 2 cents

I am getting confused Rita, are you an independent Blogger or are you the Corporate Policy Manager of WG????
As a blogger you should be happy for every information that leaks out officially or, unofficially.
Since when does a breaking of the NDA becomes an issue in a gaming blog???
If enforcing corporate policies is so much into your blood, get a job at WG.

        Fair enough!
Then if you the situation is more complicated but you (obviously) do not manage to pass the message, it would probably be a good idea to stay at things you do best!
i.e. blog about news, new tanks etc etc.
Because from what I read in this article this is a personal attack on a WG employee.
Having a blogger complaining about news leaking out is new to me!
Maybe it is a good moment to re-think your position and what you blog about.

cause lets see, i should have ~6 comments here. i see 3. 4 now.

might want to look into whose deleting the comments. cause its not me.

i even posted one comment showing a screenshot of an email from WGNA’s WoWS team of a ban due to NDA breach. To prove WG does care about NDA.
        but nope..its missing as well.

oh also, WGNA got permission from WG’s higher ups to stream the tank(with NA’s small playerbase, not surprising they’d do that to keep the playerbase happy).
would WG higher ups tell WGEU that WGNA has permission? uh…why would they? its none of WGEU’s business what WGNA is allowed to do unless it actually affects WGEU. which this doesn’t.

also, the stats of this tank are not “secret”. they’ve been on tanks.gg for 4 months now. and the stats change with any patch that changes it.
so its not like this tank was unknown

hell it had a page in the wiki 2 MONTHS ago. before being removed due to people fighting for the pro’s and con’s (over whether the lack of armor made it bad or not….lot of cuss words)

suuure. hopefully Jingles is more open to seeing evidence countering the side of the topic.

and take off the tinfoil hat? how about stepping off that high horse and looking at it from a 3rd person point of view.
        1. Business Perspective: WGEU knows what WGNA is allowed to do? uh no. cause theres no point to informing WGEU of something that doesn’t affect them. In Business you only tell separate parts of your business stuff that pertains to what they need to know.
        2. Business Perspective 2: you have a dying server, so you give it something to keep it happy and stop the decline in player numbers. -common sense. easy to see why WG did it(WG, not WGNA doing their own thing with no care of the rules)
        3. NDA? When theres an active contest going on to win it, and already an announcement it will be for sale in the August sales event? Plus the tank is IN the game files for any dataminer to see, or tanks.gg for anyone who doesn’t know how to datamine.

from a 3rd person perspective. considering how Quickybaby has streamed this tank, Tanks.gg has gotten all its stats from the game folder, its release date is known publicly, and people have seen it appear in games.
what conclusion can you draw? well, that WGEU saying “WGNA is doing their own thing” isn’t true, but that WGNA was given permission that either hasn’t yet been given to WGEU, or WGEU doesn’t know.
In no way does that logic say “oh WG told WGEU that WGNA is breaking NDA” no it says WGEU is commenting about something they have no knowledge of. what permissions has WGNA been given is none of WGEU’s business. and so WG higher up has no reason to inform them.

I feel like EU has to speak for NA(most of the time) while at the same time being very un-american in what we(NA) want
Also I think that many things that NA are putting out are just gimmicks and not able to do anything substantial.
Since NA players are looking for something different than EU players The only things that can be done have to be done at Cypris and Minsk:/

How was it a leak? They annouced a contest were the prize was this tank, then Meathead probibly got permission to stream it (sense hes on wargamings payroll now, hes not a CC so it wouldent be breaking the CC NDA) to build hype for it. I wouldent be supprised if the next few premiums get served to the NA server first they need some new stuff to bring players back and limited time eclusivity is a decent incentive. Sorry Rita i believe you made a bad call on this one.

Had to wait to watch the video till I got home from work.

I’ll agree that its wrong for them to give test accounts out to people who are carelessly breaking the NDA. Such as the leaks of the German BBs which are clearly meant to be secret. There are still two problems I have in the case of the Rmht. Scorpion

1.) The tanks not exactly a super secret anymore, I think its more the case that this tank has just been floating around on the back burner due to the case that Wargaming still was not sure how it would be implemented (VIA regular premium, limited time offer /w special skin or reward tank).

2.) Meathead is a Wargaming Employee, They also gave a release date on the vehical Aug 18 on the NA servers if I’m not mistaken. I guess they are running some kind of contest that allows you to rent the Rmht. Scorpion prior to its release as well. I’m curious why if Wargaming HQ did not know this was going to be going on, that they have not pulled the contest as soon as this went public.

Also while Meathead strikes me as a pretty reasonable guy, I think people need to realize that hes going to be bias do to his employment status and I don’t believe he had reviewed the tank nor has the right to do so. Unlike the EU CCs who are free to lambaste a vehicle if they don’t like it, when it comes time to review it.

As I see it at the moment, its Wargaming NA trying to pull some people back into the game to quell the dropping player numbers, and Wargaming HQ (may have) gave them the go-ahead to do so.

In closing, Wargaming NA needs to step up their game on communication in the future. So leaks of NDAed content is not so common anymore, But I still have to give them a pass on this one based on my synopsis above.

I would love to see WGNA start their on CC program, maybe people like Sidestrafe and Sliphantom could fill some seats? Actually that brings me to another point, the startling lack of big US Youtubers/streamers (who cover both World of Tanks and World of Warships)

same stats, the only difference is visual camo design. which was leaked on tanks.gg as soon as they put the camo in game files.

the only tank that actually has a difference…is Type 59 vs Type 59G. cause one makes 2x as much credits as the other.

So when you leaked the tank Friday, 15 May 2015 the stats where (http://ritastatusreport.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/rheinmetall-skorpion-on-supertest.html?m=1)

        Tier: 8 TD

        Accuracy: 0,336
        Aimtime: 2,21s
        Depression: -5,8

Compare that to the NA “leak”
        Tier: 8 TD
        Hitpoints: 1150
        Engine: 650 hp
        Weight: 38,23 tons

        Radio range: 400

        Hull armor: 30/16/20

        Reload: 12,2
        Accuracy: 0,3
        Aimtime: 2,1s
        Depression: -5/+14

It is the same tank it is ridiculous that you can leak stuff from a supertest which has NDA’s but it is OK for you to post leaks yet WG NA can’t post about a tank that is coming for sale shortly on NA.

On this occasion you are really wrong and should accept that you are and move on.

You are talking about things you don’t know. The stats have changed since then, “G” makes it technically a different tank. Besides, wasn’t me that leaked it, were the Russians. Also, I’m not a WG employee. What at matter here is the complete disregard from the NA office to try and cooperate, this time was a Rhm Skorpion G, but in the past they have done this bs multiple times and with tanks that dont have special camo. If I was wrong I would assume it but sorry, I’m not.

Also dont you find highly dubious when a WG employee with a donation bar on his stream uses official WoT’s social media to boost his channel while he is streaming with those tanks? That’s another point that should be taken in consideration.

WG EU gets panned for withholding upcoming premium tank information prior to going on sale, WG NA engages with its server to inform them of the stats and play style before it goes on sale. Please consider the irony that you leaked the tank already 15 May 2015 http://ritastatusreport.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/rheinmetall-skorpion-on-supertest.html?m=1 from a supertest which is completely NDA) then QB and other WG EU CC’s leaked the tank at gamescom.

I am laughing my tits off that you make a living on leaking WG some of which is under NDA as it is on a supertest. You have repeatedly panned WG EU for not telling the player base information & remember when EU put tanks for sale in the shop without being on test server which you criticised. NA have done nothing wrong at all

You are coming ome across as being jealous, I dint know whether this is the case. I don’t think it is “highly dubious” that he has a donation bar why shouldn’t he have one??

Also you are being a tad ridiculous to say I don’t know what I’m on about when it comes to NDA’s just because you don’t not work for WG you still published leaks which are under NDA therefore you have breached the NDA. If WG wanted they can shut anyone down and take legal action for doing so, they won’t do so but that doesn’t mean you are right to post leaks.

Clearly NA are not under a NDA as EU are it is very simple. It’s ridiculous to say that the tank is different as this is now marked G variant. You leaked it form an RU leak and you are a EU CC, QB is EU CC he played the tank at gamescom with other EU CC’s. What is good for the goose is good for the Gander…….

Continuing your idiotic witch hunt against NA I see. How does an NDA apply to the company itself? When an authorized employee of the company is giving out information that’s not called a leak, that’s called advertising. Especially when the tank and all its stats had already proliferated months before.

How is this a leak? The tank was announced to go on sale back in July 28th: http://worldoftanks.com/en/news/pc-browser/22/august-overview/

Two days later, they made a post with a cool banner that hypes the Skorpion: http://worldoftanks.com/en/news/pc-browser/18/summer-play-aug/

They even have a Tankopedia entry for it (it’s the G version): http://worldoftanks.com/en/tankopedia/G114_Rheinmetall_Skorpian/

Maybe EU is under some sort of NDA, but NA certainly isn’t. I don’t think this is the same as them streaming the Rhm Skorpion a while ago out of the blue. This seems like a pretty standard unveiling of a new premium tank to me.

  19. Hello Rita, I currently run ShipComrade. I am an EU & NA Wargaming Warships contributor. I work with MrConway, Ph3lan & Byrnd on EU and NikoPower & Quemapueblos on NA. Both teams have been fantastic. I have also been in both Warships CC clubs since the beginning.

Couple of notes. One, the biggest issue coming from the Jingles video is the damage caused to NA CC’s! Ever since Jingles video there has been a non stop barrage towards these NA contributors accusing them of leaking. I understand the frustration when it comes to the Tank. But the way Jingles went off it made it sound like all NA people are guilty of leaking which is not true. NA is the most sue happy environment there is. It also the only place I currently have a signed NDA. EU did not require one (yet) because they don’t sue everyone, they just boot & ban you. Does everyone really believe that NA CC’s would risk everything (including being sued into oblivion) just to leak? I don’t believe so.

Now the Tank in question is being called a leak was by a Wargaming employee. But it was a Wargaming employee. Logic would make you think that he had to have approval from the higher ups to do that (RU), if not, he might be in some hot water.

Now as far as contests for multi regions, yes, it can be difficult. When I did our 1 year anniversary rare ship giveaway, I had to work with both divisions, not just one to get it all setup. We ended up doing 2 separate events (1 EU & 1 NA) due to timing, but it got done.

One huge suggestion for Jingles. Both Warships CC’s group have IM groups setup with Wargaming where we communicate with each other & wargaming on a daily basis. Would really like to see Jingles join us so miscommunication can be minimized. I can help jingles make those NA connections if he would like. As far as joining us on the EU IM group side, MrConway can get you added. We would love to have him join us.

Now i cannot speak for the Tanks side of things as I am not involved with Tanks. But I do know that NA used to have a separate teams for Ships & Tanks.

Hello dear, this is actually something you need to tell Jingles not me. Reason I didn’t talked about WoWS stuff is because I don’t play the game (truth to be told I’m crappy at it and too lazy to learn) so I got no comment to give on that because I have no idea how things were. I do believe however that Jingles made some really good points and pretty sure the only reason he mentioned NA CCs is bc WG NA seems to not take things seriously enough to regulate the NDAs and such, but again, I don’t play the game and create very little content on it, its something I cant really speak for.

When are you going to start showing any understanding that WGNA NDAs and WGEU NDAs are not the same thing in every case? WGNA regulates their own NDAs with their own content creators just fine. WGEU regulates their NDAs with their own content creators just fine. Expecting one office to conform to another office’s NDA agreements (which they probably haven’t even seen) is not how Minsk established that the regional offices were going to operate.

This cuts the legs out from under any point you were attempting to make in your article and any point Jingles was trying to make with his video. Both of your arguments should have been that the current system of non-simultaneous release of new prem vehicles does not work well with regional the current regional office’s NDAs with their own content creators (many of whom do not operate on a regional level but on a global level). Not attacking a particular office and trying to make it sound like they do whatever they want or don’t act professionally.

This is exactly why both you and Jingles are getting so much blowback, because neither of you made a valid point but instead went off on a tirade against. All either of you did successfully here was undermine your own credibility with the WoT & WoWS communities.

      • Thanks Rita, not so easy to get a hold of Jingles, busy man :), would you mine passing along for me? This stuff can be worked out, We just need better communication is all. The Warships Wargaming Communitty teams (EU & NA) have way better communication now then they used too 6+ months ago. No reason why Tanks cannot too.

    • “NA is the most sue happy environment there is” wow thanks for all the positive comments, I mean this will help with this matter greatly. and also just because some don’t draw a paycheck from WG does not mean those are not rewarded. best advice i can give is “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”

I like how everyone is bitch in about WGNA, when it’s EU that has the draconian NDA rules. When that stream went up, EU should have given the go ahead to release the videos. The reality is EU should follow NAs lead on talking about content. PS you guys should really do ACTUAL research and know the leaks aren’t coming from NA, and NA community contributors do check with NA before putting out videos.

So a company’s publicity rep releases embargoed information before third parties are allowed to release the information? Shenanigans! When are companies going to realize they cannot simply release information on their own anymore. There are lots of Youtubers who depend on being the first to release information to get web views and ad revenue. I agree that you and Jingles and QB, none of whom are WG employees even if y’all are WG EU apologists, DESERVE to make the official announcement first so you can get the ad revenue. Since you got illegally scooped by WG, nobody will watch your videos or read your blogs anymore.
