HE shells should lose penetration by range.
It’s not 4 types of ammo – it’s five (HESH).

No they shouldn’t – HE penetration is entirely due to blast, with no effect from shell velocity (and thus unaffected by range). I think in WoT HESH is just treated as HE with high Pen & minimal splash, so not a different type in terms of game mechanics.

HESH is just a HE shell with a higher penetration (In world of tanks).

    • dmminion says:

Well HESH within the game, works exactly like HE, just with (in general) higher penetration values.

    • Vlad Pomar says:

No they shouldn’t, why do you think they should?

      • abusemtex says:

HE shells are basically a steel casing filled with explosive substance.
While it has some penetration capacity it is subject to penetration loss over distance just like AP penetrators.
It is only HEAT shells which do not depend on speed to maintain their penetration capacities.

This is old news. Is there a news black out? Did some high ranking WG official die?

And the HEAT I have a game with my CDC on Stalingrad where I bounced a Jageru. No, he didn’t hit the tracks. No, he didn’t hit a module. Bounce. 1050 damage blocked. 😀

What happened to the news about exchanging premiums with a gold charge? If they are changing overmatch mechanics why release a video with that in it? Does WG ever do anything right?

Still doesn’t explain why german gun have unhistorical pen….

25% RNG, thats why i hate WoT, its just too much. I do agree that we cant remove RNG completely, but it should be at least reduced to 15%, to make the game more enjoyable…

Thanks for sharing this, needed a refresher on the calibers rules.

  9. Type 319 Sharpedo says:

2 easy steps to balancing premium shells: (1) reduce APCR damage by 66% and (2) reduce HEAT penetration to 66% of standard AP penetration.

  10. wankatanka says:

as long as RNG rules no rebalancing of anything would make the game better.
