Update to Server Issues

31

Wargaming (correction) NA have made a competition package available to cover recent server issues. This issue was also compensated for on the RU cluster. Here on EU nothing no micro patch or compensation even though players have been experiencing some lags and freezes.

From Wargaming portal

Over the past several months, many players reported an unusual number of lag spikes or freezes when playing World of Tanks. Given the nature of the internet, occasional glitches can happen in any online game, but this recent flare-up wasn’t typical.

Our team has been hard at work to address these issues, and released a micro-update on April 13 which solved the problem for many. However, some players are still affected, but it appears their issues are related to internet traffic rather than the game servers. Nevertheless, we’re continuing to research these issues to determine their exact causes. If you still experience severe lag or freezes, visit our Customer Service Center to see how you can help us in this effort.

We know it’s no fun to have battles interrupted like this, and in the spirit of improving your gaming experience as much as possible, we’d like to express our gratitude to you for sticking with us as we get to the bottom of things.

All players can get a special gift if you log in and play a single battle between April 26-30:

  • 3 Days Premium Account
  • 5x +50% Credit Reserves (1 hour)
  • 5x +100% XP Reserves (1 hour)
  • 5x +200% Crew XP Reserves (1 hour)

For the issue on the RU cluster the package was.

  • 1 Day Premium Account
  • 1 +50% XP Reserves (2 hours)
  • 1 +100% Crew XP Reserves (2 hours)
  • 1 +100% Free XP Reserves (2 hours)

  3. Dear loyal money whales,

We are sorry for not feeding our server hamsters more and rushing in patches without proper debug testing because you whine like puppies when we don’t feed you free content every month. We are also sorry you run world of tanks on your great grandfather’s typewriter.

Please buy a proper computer and stop spamming our forums you twats.

No they won’t, because they don’t own the SEA server, that’s been well established since the server went live

You might be thinking about the China server there. China and Asia server are two different things with WoT Asia workinng with WoT EU and NA while “WoT China” does what ever the fuck it wants

We had some strange micro patch, unannounced, sometime last week. Had some strange disconnect one time, had some lag a few times, nothing to serious.

But of course fuck the EU players, no compensation for them.

same thing here, had been disconected more than a few times and couldn’t go back to battle until it was finished. but they announced update for tommorow (correct me if i’m wrong), so who knows, maybe after that we’ll get something.

Yeah, time to think about my spending habits for my Hobby WoT. I got lags and packetlosses all the way from the beginning oft the Marathon till maybe 1-2 weeks ago. Looks like they have enough of my money now.

Oh dear, I know its hard to satisfy all of your customers but looks like its easy to piss off many of them in a heartbeat. WG you really need to work on your CR!!!

This issue wasn’t caused by the WoT NA hardware. There are two horrible hops that much of the traffic was passing through to hit the NA east server.

The problem was and will continue to be is that NA customer service is complete shit. For months people have been sending them the logs and customer service will immediately blame things like mods or ISP’s even with the proof right in their face.

All these people on the EU and (non official) Asia server griping about not getting freebies and micro patch when the micro patch is tied to a version (9.18) that isn’t even available in EU and Asia.

NA is the guinea pig for 9.18, since EU, RU, etc still haven’t gotten it after 8 days, so how can you be given a micro patch and compensation for something you don’t have (not saying that you don’t have lag)?

    0

    0
    • It clearly says the micropatch was released on April 13, before even NA server got 9.18.
This issue had nothing to do with update 9.18. It was an issue that persisted for weeks during 9.17
