Swiss interactive tech tree

39

As i have hinted in my Q&A yesterday i’ll be showing off a project me and phdrvrba have worked on in the past 2 weeks, with all proposed vehicles with modules. I have to stress that this is WIP, so thingy may change especially when WG adds these vehicles and do some changes themselves. But all vehicles are historical and only a few modules had to be unhistorically added to a vehicle in order to make it attractive to play and competitive.

Visit the Website here

Let us know what you think and if you happen to see a mistake somehwere, let us know as well. We try to improve the proposal based on feedback so i can communicate the changes with WG and tell them what the players want.

Also don’t forget to share the website if you want to see this tree and maybe we can get WG to add it sooner as they planned.

And as a little bonus: here is a 3D model for the Tier 8 heavy tank and the Tier 10 light tank.

So, at earliest when is this coming? I assume not this year, but maybe 2018?

Also, if you had to choose 1-2 lines which would be intrdouced at forst, what would they be?

well they have planned for it to come in 2019, but things may still change.
Also fir the first line it’s gotta be the medium line as most people in the swiss army served in them. Panzer 68 was in service untill 2003.After the medium tanks maybe the light tanks to tier 10 or the TDs.

        2019? What a shame :/

Well there is hope that things change…i hope they dont waste time with Polish tech tree especially not before this, Italian and even Israeli tech tree. I dont get it why Polish want their clone tree so much. Even though i am Finnish i am against Finnish tech tree for the same reasons.

2019? I do understand the historical interest of the polish tt by the fact that the 7TP is recognized by some as a better machine than the iconic german tanks that defeated it
I also understand that the italian tt is more popular with the P.40 being a fairly known tank
(btw I do not understand the claims against the M47 since it is not in the US tt, even so it would still be different from the original)
I would leave the polish for after the swiss and hungarian TTs
instead of wasting time on 2 IS-3 clones (Kirovets-, IS-3A) less than a year appart between them, fixing the TTs (fixing unhistorical OP buffs and reorganizing some trees, the US and french trees specifically) and adding new content would bring them more players and their money
contrary to what was being claimed before WG can keep WoT “fresh” for a long time since there is enough content left for both existent and new tech trees, and then there is also the bonus content like argentinian, romanian, australian, brazilian, yugoslav, eyc… that they can either make premiums or mini-lines

Actually the M47 exists in WoT, the top configuaration of the M46 is an M47 patton, minus the 105, but the original M47’s gun is still a gun option, so if i wanted i could make a historical M47 Patton in WoT

yes, you are right but the M47 is and is not technically in the game since there were some minor changes to the hull, and technically the M46 uses the T42 turret
by the same logic the T42 is technically in the game as well since it was a larger, heavier and “thicker-skined” T41 with a new turret and 90mm gun, later used on the M47

Interactive tree is lovely btw. Lines actually look interesting and would be glad to open them up. Some nice interesting tanks around the midpoint too, didn’t see any lines that looked like a chore to grind/pay your way past for a change 😉

And yet, I think that at tier 7 there should be Laupen 16t. Autoloader is a significant advantage. KW30 is a descendant of Indien Panzer, but Indien Panzer situated on tier 8. KW 30/52 – tier 8 MT(+ 8,4 mm Kanone) and KW 30/57 – premium MT on tier 8. And It will not be necessary to borrow Lansen from the Swedes.
P.S. Thanks for your work. On RU servers we as well as you are waiting for the appearance of Swiss tanks.

    • Mizutayio says:

As a fun fact, the KW 30 wasn’t a decendant from the Indien Panzer, it’s a completely independent development.
Besides, KW 30/52 has very low armor, and it’s top speed is merely 45 km/h So it’d do fine at tier 7.

Also i wonder, are there any Forum threads on RU talking about my articles?

About KW 30 again. STA-1 have the same indexes of armor and mobility and situated on tier 8.Yet he is a very strong contender for the Panthers and Tigers.

      • Mizutayio says:

still KW-30 could be balanced with ground resistance and gun handling. The swiss medium line already has a lot of similar tanks on high tiers, i don’t want the have a Laupen tank following a laupen tank, since they are more or less the exact same tank, the KW 30 at least looks different.

Finaly a “full” techtree again, with LT, MT, HT, TD and SPG. Normal tanks and premiums! Good work. Maybe there is also room for a premium SPG and HT?

    • Mizutayio says:

I have been toying with the thought of a premium SPG, and i may have a soloution. but as of yet WG is not interested in adding any premium SPGs. As for premium HT, there is the kingtiger.

Ok. THIS IS AMAZING STUFF you give us there! Anyway, I have few remarks (but soooo many questions! ahah maybe would be better that I pm you on discord regarding those, if you have time for this?) to make:

    – Keep in mind that most of the penetration stats that WG gave to german guns are false. They took the pen value @30° wich means for exemple, that the 7.5 cm Pak 40 L/48 (that the G-13 have as stock) should have around 126 mm of pen @100 m rather than 110 mm they gave it.

    – The same goes for the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 of the Königstiger, wich should have 233 mm pen @100 m rather than the 203 WG gaves it. So IHMO,the Königstiger should be a tier 8 (with good soft-stats and DPM, it should be a pretty good tenk! 🙂 ).

    – Lastly but really not the least: please forget about the AMX 13 at tier 6, and its “autoloader” gun on the G-13 (but only the autoloader version, the classic loading version seems really interesting to me on this tank!)… those are so far from reality hard-stat wise! I mean, this gun should have 156 mm pen, and the AMX 13 had 12 rounds in its autoloader IRL indeed.

    • Mizutayio says:

well we have based some of the penetration numbers on stats in the game of similar guns which are already in the game. If we’d go for historical accuracy over balance, a lot of tanks would actually be higher or lower up the tree

      • IRON says:

Hum.. Yeah I understand what you mean.. But in those exemples ( 75 mm guns ont G-13, Königstiger at tier 8) it works perfectly fine, don’t you think?

      • Mizutayio says:

I do agree on the Königstiger beign at tier 8, it could really work on either tier since the Tiger II has a relatively weak lower plate and still only 80mm side, so if they’d nerf it’s soft stats it would qualify as one, i mean, it didn’t stop WG from adding the O-Ni at tier 7. As for the proposal, one of the main reason we put it at tier 7, is that we simply ran ouf of vertical space. It’s limited to 9 lines and putting the Tiger II at tier 8 would have made it 10.
So untill WG is even gonna add that tank in the first place, it’s gonne take a bit.

Can someone run a campaign to educate people on the difference between Switzerland and blady Sweden. I reposted this on NA, I even say Swiss( Switzerland) and I even link a wiki page of Switzerland and still people replay saying something about Swedish tanks.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

I think it’s better to save the tank with the native gun L7. As a result, we get E-25 on tier 10. Gun equivalent to medium tanks with much more better characteristics.
