Greetings everyone, just an article i wanted to post as quickly as possible.

bv-p215-02_2

Wowp patch 1.9.10 will be released tomorrow and will introduce 6 new tech tree planes:

  • BV-P210, German Tier VIII Multirole Fighter
  • BV-P212-03, German Tier IX Multirole Fighter
  • BV-P215-02, German Tier X Multirole Fighter
  • SU-9, Soviet Tier VIII Multirole Fighter
  • I-211, Soviet Tier IX Multirole Fighter
  • I-215, Soviet Tier X Multirole Fighter

Images and more information can be found here

However the interesting part is the event which will appear with the new release: Battle of Thor’s Hammer, similar to the Japanese Threat event when the KI-162 line was introduced you can win said new tech tree planes by playing the game and most importantly, winning in planes of your chosen faction. gives you points which allows you to open loot boxes which have the chance of dropping these planes including missions which have to be completed in order to keep these planes, the luckiest players may even keep the plane directly without needing to complete missions.

So long story short, you get the chance earn a tier 8, 9 and 10 tech tree plane by merely playing a couple of battles in any plane of your chosen faction.

That Su-9 is going to confuse a lot of people seeing as there is a (better known) interceptor with the same designation later.

Can confirm (from a book on the Fitter series) that this was a actual plane though, and even flew iirc. The upcoming Su-9 I mean.

In fact, there were two actual planes that had supersonic “siblings” – Su-9 and Su-11. The main differences were the engines and their placement – Su-9 had engine nacelles under wings whereas Su-11 had them IN the wings.

Didn’t even end there, he also had a Su-15 and a Su-17 on the drawing board before Uncle Joe shut him down, as I recall.

One of those interesting what if’s.

We do not talk about WoWp. WoWp never existed. Now stop talking about it.

This event is going to be really cool. I play the three games (WOT, WOWP, WOWS) and the Japanese Threat, which was mentioned, was the best WG event I’ve ever seen. If this is similar, it will be incredible. I wish WOWS could imitate this and do a similar event (Allies x Axis).

Also, I have to disagree with Alexander Yakovlev, the I-211 looks more like a Soviet Meteor to me than “a another clone of the Me 262” (his own words, nb)

Even if it’s not the more famous Su-9, it would still be the first Sukhoi aircraft in the game, to my knowledge, which is pretty cool, actually!

Correct. And it is a plane that flew, even if only two were ever made.

In fact, iirc all three of the new Soviet planes actually left the drawing board.

    Really hope WG salvages WoWp.
I might be in the minority, but I do like the fact that WG lets us zoom around in prototypes/blueprints.
