WoT- Anton Pankov Q&A Part 2

30

A continuation of yesterday’s Q&A (which if you haven’t caught up on can be read here). Here we go:

(Regarding Ranked Battles) If everything goes well, the 3rd season will probably be released near the beginning of the year. As of now we’re still going into the 2nd season under the label of a “test”.

We want to continue to develop bonds, this is true. In the future we could possibly use it to replace gold in some instances, but right now we want to use it as an example for marathon type rewards.

More customization is being looked at. First there’s 2D, which is camouflage, emblems, color, regional camo and backgrounds etc. Naturally the Asian region will be given a bit more in terms of variation and color scale. The second part, 3D, is things like bags and nets. None of this will give an in-game advantage, and it’s a huge amount of content per tank. 2D is something we want to possibly show off this year, though there’s no real forecast for the 3D stuff.

We’re pretty satisfied with arty in Random Battles, though there have been a few bad points. There really isn’t any sort of quick adjustment we can make, and at the moment we are focused on working on the high-tier light tanks.

I want to work of Personal Missions, as I want more people to be able to get through them.

A lot of balance changes are planned for this year.

We will continue work on the light tanks, and not just the high-tier ones.

We intentionally didn’t give players a tank for the birthday event. We have been reproached for many years to just give 10k silver and a garage slot.

Aww, as a collector, this saddens me. I was looking forward to the supposed tank they were going to give us.

Check it later on some different blog, that’s definitely not the whole explanation (based on Rykoszet and wot-news transcriptions).

    • Same here, the complaints were mostly that they weren’t good or uninteresting. I think the bt7 arty was a great example of a fun one. That I don’t think is OP, but you know I guess we will have to make do :!

The translation was: why should we waste time making a tier 2 or 3 that we would give for free and not make a crap ton of money and don’t use this time to print an op ass premium that would fill our pockets so much that we would drive lamborghinis made out of diamonds?

Even if some were bad (like Pz.II D), even if i didn’t play a single match with some, it was kinda nice getting those quirky little tanks. I accepted them for what they were – a gift.

Yeah, frigging whiners ruining it for the rest of us!
Just sell the bloody thing if you don’t want it, or is the ~20 seconds that takes too taxing for you?

Some of them were quite fun, keep my bt7a around for fun, but I get this is his way of saying we are not going to waste the content…so what’s the tier 3 useful for then?

I’ve never understood this complaint. If you don’t like the gift tank you can sell it and still get some silver and a free garage slot. If you like it then you get to add a new unique tank to your collection.

Why would you complain about getting free stuff?

I swear some WoT players are some of the whiniest and most vitriolic diaper babies in the gaming community.

This is what they wanted to do with our free birthday gift tank… The answer above in this Q/A is complete bullshit…

I’m saddened about the birthday tank too.

I will admit to selling them off when I was a newbie (I wanted the free slot), but I then discovered that missions and specials give out free garage slots like sweeties. I now have 105 garage slots…

But if people choose to sell them for the slot and credits, where’s the problem? It would be nice to keep the choice!

Maybe because for most of us tier 2 / 3 are just 10k silver and a garage slot?

Some of them, like LT-8-3 are nearly impossible now with the mm changes unless you get incredibly lucky.

You expect everyone to get the Object just like That? I don’t have that one myself yet and p play quite often.

You might be good at this one game, but no one cares and have a life outside the game.

What else are you good at?

this is 100% PLAYER’S FAULT – you guys bitched and moaned and complained every year about whatever was given away, regardless of how good or fun or not it was
so this year, WG says “f you”, which is bullshit
i hope next year it changes….

It’s a piece of shit of explanation.
They treat us like garbage, ergo the people stop playing… its easy

  10. Pangzhu says:

I don’t really see the point that wg is trying to make here with this “statement”.

Yes, lots of players complained about the gift tanks every single time one was given.
So what? Players have been vocal about wanting to have SPGs removed from the game, and many other important things, that WG have ignored then. So why not ignore negative players now, when it comes to gifting a token of appreciation to those who do appreciate.

ungrateful and whiny players could just sell it and be done with it and like stated earlier, WG could ignore them.

Surely not gifting a tank and coming up with a lousy excuse of an explanation will earn them less good will 😉

Maybe if people who liked the free tank would just speak out louder/at all compared to the many complainers, Wargaming would see at least some people appreciate a gift when they get one…

Maybe if the ones who like the free tank would just say “thank you” as often as the complainers whine, we would have gotten that tank….
