9.21 Second Test Iteration Changes


Good day everyone,

Second iteration of the test server is up and running, here are the changes:

  • Edits to the tool tips for camouflage tiles.
  • Fixed an issue where the price of equipment was highlighted red, even if there were enough credits to buy the equipment.
  • Fixed some issues with the camera in Spectator mode.

  • Reload time increased from 8.1 sec. to 8.5 sec.


  • Aim time increased from 2.4 to 2.7 sec.
  • Shot spread during turret rotation increased from 0.12m to 0.14m.

World of Tanks Fair Play Update


So another round of bans has hit the World of Tanks servers. The usual penalties for using prohibited mods have been dealt out along with permanant bans for repeat offenders. Here are the statistics by server:

  • Banned: 91

  • Banned: 635


  • Penalized: 13,391
  • Banned: 2,937


No updates from the Asia server as of yet, but we’ll update as soon as anything is released.


WoT Developer Q&A


Good day everyone,

Brief Q&A for you all from a developer meeting with NA and EU community people, mostly focused on update 9.21, HD maps, and plans for the New Year:

HD Maps

Working on HD maps requires a lot of resources and time. When we make the transition to HD maps it needs to be done be done with all of them, because we can’t support of mix of SD and HD maps at the same time.

At the moment we are working so that we have enough maps converted to HD for their release- but we don’t want to mention any dates. We’re almost there, about month instead of years. We don’t want to upset the playerbase by announcing a date and then having to push it back.

We are pleased to say though that we’re far enough along with converting HD maps that we now can start thinking about creating new ones, or even returning old maps. For example, we can imagine new maps with Asian themes, or be inspired by maps from the Console version of the game. The variety of maps is very important for us and, without any promises, the location of one of them is where we work. Continue reading

WoT Micropatch tonight.


Micropatch for

On RU. On November 29, we will release a small update. The servers will be unavailable from 6:00 to 6:45 (MST). Scheduled reboots for tonight are canceled.

On EU, The World of Tanks servers will be unavailable on 29.11.2017 from 05:00 – 05:45 CET due to this update.

No news about NA servers.

Patch Notes. From RU Portal. To fix:

  • An error in Personal missions, because of which the player could receive a reward camouflage, having completed only 74 tasks out of 75 missions.
  • An error, due to which it was impossible to apply reward camouflage when the conditions of the Personal missions are met.
  • An error in the displayed power of the Continental AOI-628-1 A engine: incorrect figure of 340 bhp. will be changed to 600 bhp.
  • Some technical issues.

This patch will also introduce two new folders /res_mods/ and /mods/ .These will of course break the any mods you have installed.

9.21 General Test Changes


Good day everyone,

So a small update has hit the general test server, here are the changes:

Customization Interface Changes

  • New interface screen
  • For Tier X through Tier VIII you can apply rental and permanent custom paint styles. At the moment it is only possible to rent and entire paint scheme, separate elements aren’t available for rent.
  • Styles are given out for the number of battles, not calendar days.
  • Paint is applied to 4 to 5 separate parts of the machine (depending on whether the gun of a particular tank is customizable). All vehicles will have at least 3 parts where you can change the size of camo patterns and some other aspects.
  • For the bonus effect of camouflage to be applied to a tank, the hull must be painted.
  • Added a new effect to apply wear and tear to paint. This effect does not work with low graphics settings.
  • Both historical and non-historical elements are available.
  • There is an option to disable seeing non-historical elements in battle.
