Why you should give WOWP a second chance

So i’ve been playing World of Warplanes a lot in the past 3 years, nowhere near as much as WoT, but still long enough to get a Tier 10 and multiple tier 7-8 planes.

And while most people would write me off and tell me to play War Thunder, don’t worry, I play and enjoy WT, not as much as I do WoWp but that’s just me. Literally, I’m one of the few players playing WoWp, which still manages to break 1k players online at once easily for a couple of hours per day.

Anyway, the reason I’m writing this, and the reason I’m writing this here out of all places is: I want people to try the game again, to give it a second chance. For that I need a large audience.

First of all, it had many changes since it has been released and considering no one is playing it, they did a reasonable job at adding content and fixing the game (to an extent).

By convincing enough people to give it a second chance I hope to boost the development and the quality of it as more people can say what they want.

I have gotten a WT player with over 5000 playing hours to play WoWp and, even if we had to figure out a couple of things, like the ideal settings (which I will come back to later in this article) for the controls, he actually enjoyed it to an extent, mainly because he just prefers realistic games, but for someone who enjoys arcade games or even WT arcade, it will certainly be worth it.

Some of the main selling points of the game are by far some of the unique aircraft, which, to be fair, for some people are a no go, but that’s why War Thunder exists, and that’s a good thing.

But generally, WoWp can add aircraft which Gaijin would never add to WT.

Aircraft like that are for example: the Swedish Saab 51, various Swiss heavy fighters, the Danish OV-J-1.

Whole new nations are even possible! Here are some examples of possible new ones: Sweden, Finland, Spain, Argentina, Poland, Romania, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Czechoslovakia and Australia. And again, they are theoretically possible, but we don’t know if WG will add them, we just made this list based on our research.

Some of the unique aircraft already in the game: ME 262 HG III, the French AD 10C2 or the SE 100.

There are also a lot of possible lines like France and Italy (which have been confirmed to me that they will be the next 2 nations). Other nations that have a good chance in getting added are: Sweden, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia and Poland, which have trees in WoT or are work in progress. Maybe there are more, and if that’s the case I just don’t know about them. We can also see in the future if Wargaming has previously unknown planes in their archives.

Also it has been confirmed to me as well that they are planning to add bombers into the game and that they plan to do some more work on the graphics. And if we can make the community grow we can change the game easier.

Also, yes, I do know that there’s still a lot left to change. But my friend told me that the most important changes they need to do at the moment are: balancing attackers, tweaking the gun damage, upgrading the physics and adding a better shader to the graphics. Other than that it’s really playable, and the better you get, the less you tend to die, the more enjoyable it gets.

In addition, the higher up the tiers you go it also gets more fun. And there are also some lines which are easier to play than others. But one thing I must add is that you’d have to do some changes to the controls to make it playable, the standard settings are terrible and don’t allow you to play the game at its best potential. There are also some nations I would recommend for starters which I will list further down.

As mentioned above, there are some settings which you must change from the standard settings in order to get the controls to work properly.

wowp-settings-1This is the Settings Menu, on the bottom left you’ll see advanced settings.

wowp-settings-2The most important setting to uncheck is “Target tracking adjustment” as well as lock camera on either Horizon or Free. The sliders can be adjusted as you please, I recommend to open a training room with a tier 1 bot on the enemy team so you can test out what suits you the most.

(And yes, I’m trying to convince the Devs to make some proper standard settings)

bb460e7cb34f0c03c9f5722ee85722a2Well this part of the settings is pretty complicated to understand, but when you do, it makes the game handle a lot better.

Basically as the image says: horizontal axis is for the the angle between the cursor and the aircraft direction, for example if you move the cursor only slightly or if you rock the mouse so hard that you make a 180 degree turn, the points on the very left are for the small adjustments while the points on the very right are for the extreme maneuvers.

The vertical Axis is the type of the turn and what it basically means, the further down they are the more the plane continues rolling in the direction you pointed at, which makes turn fights a little easier if you have the far right point fully down. If the left point is on the very bottom you can make small adjustments to the cursor without the whole aircraft rolling in, it will then fly with the rudder and elevator for the small adjustments. I would not recommend putting everything to the bottom, I recommend to put the lines around the upper third of the grid and as mentioned above, get into a training room with a bot to adjust your settings.

Another setting that’s recommended for evasive maneuvers is the rudder controls, they normally aren’t assigned and you can easily put them on Q and E. Pretty much everything can be changed.

Other changes I recommend for a more fluid gameplay is to deactivate camera effects and disable the free cinematic camera, which when enabled, locks your free camera to your aircraft, making it very hard to look around.

wowp-settings-4

Blockhaj: All you need to do is experiment with the controls a little to make it as similar to War Thunder as possible and you will be able to rack at least 2-4 kills per game if you are an average War Thunder player. Beside the keyboard settings, set mouse to 100%, then go to advanced and use these settings:

wvb3xeh

So now for the recommended aircraft lines: I recommend going down the BF 109 line as they have good armament, good speed, and reasonable maneuverability. They’re pretty easy to play. Also good for starters is the Soviet La-15 line, for more experienced players I recommend the Japanese KI-162 or the F-86A Sabre line.

Heavy fighters for Germany tend to have the biggest dps while the Americans are pretty average with a good rate of climb. The British heavy fighters are very powerful as well.

Also I insist that you try to play the game until you reach tier 4 or 5, as low tiers can be pretty bad. (not so much with the germans but other nations have pretty bad armament at low tiers.

I really hope that I can get some players to give WoWp a second chance for now. I’ll let you know in the future for any major changes if you prefer to wait a bit.

To finish, I’ll let my WT friend say his opinion:

Blockhaj: I have, like everyone else in War Thunder, played Arcade. Like a lot of players I have left it for Realistic since War Thunder does a better job as a realistic game than an arcade game. In War Thunder Arcade everything is unhistorical and unrealistic, like an arcade game should be. But what it misses are all the weird plane designs that you see in other games like IL-2 1946 and my childhood favorite, Crimson Skies. When they announced that Wargaming, the creators of World of Tanks were going to develop a similar game but with planes, I really hoped it would be like War Thunder Arcade, but with all the weird plane designs Ii knew we were never going to see in WT. Now I must say I do not support paper planes in WT since I play it for the realism/semi historical accuracy. I do prefer prototypes before reskinned vehicles under new names but paper vehicles are a no no. But I do still appreciate paper designs and the “what if” scenarios. So I jumped on the hype train and tested WoWP, and to my surprise, it was garbage. Like most people I started hating on the game even though it was in beta. Several years later I met Mizutayio who said that he had been playing WoWP for all these years. At first I thought he was joking, I then thought he was mad. Then I realized he was a semi fanboy 😉 But he told me that they had fixed a lot of the problems with the game during the past years and asked if I wanted to give it a try. So I did, and at first it didn’t look too impressive. The graphics were bad and the controls were horrible and made the game unplayable. After a few changes I was able to change the controls so it mimicked the War Thunder ones, and after that the game became sort of fun. I acquired some mid tier premium planes to get the feel of the real game and it’s actually pretty fun. Now there are still problems with the game but I must say that I would rather play this game than playing Arcade in War Thunder again. Both games/game modes have their pros and cons but in my opinion WoWP is more fun and it actually has some future potential, unlike War Thunder Arcade which hasn’t changed since the 20 tier system. Now if you want to play this game and not ragequit, let the attackers be and you will have a great time.

Mizutayio: Also one last thing: by doing the tutorial you can get 200 gold for just investing 15 minutes of your time.

In addition, WoWp has a lot of events where you can print exp, which can be converted to free exp and spent on WoT. (also works the other way around, you can spend some free exp from WoT to unlock a tier 4 or 5 plane in WoWp)

Here are some neat videos showing some gameplay of aircraft that aren’t tier 1,2 or 3:

I honestly enjoyed it more than WT. Hopefully we can get more people and players on it, need more Japanese, French and Italian planes 😛

  2. My oh my, quite the enthusiastic approach to recruit wowp players. I’m from wot and it’s fairly comprehensible for me to picture myself using terrain and armor to trade blows as though I were a beefed up jugernuaght soldier. Dancing in the sky looks a bit repetitive if every fight is a cat fight in the open sky, like watching a duel on mittengard without any buildings (not that it’s bad, just not seeing all that much of the thrilling, low ground, weaving action you’d expect from movies and that’s probably because wowp isn’t really intended for the replay experience and players that don’t understand dogfighting are just left confuzzled). Also, chances are that if the game had a rough start for BlockHaj and we too need to purchase premium tanks for a feel of the game, it might not be all that great of an idea for a person on the budget and still has mountains of tanks to grind in wot. Warthunder was wise to link their planes and tanks together to help their existing players discover the other half of their company. Wargaming really needs to find their own unique way of unifying their divided player base otherwise they leave wowp out for a wash. The free gold is tempting and I’d be rude to talk wowp down without planning to give it a try so I’ll be back if the game play convinces me that there is some merit 🙂

  3. I don’t mind the excuse to play the game again for a bit. Especially if these settings will improve my experience
I did have some fun with my time. And I like having weird and wonderful planes almost more than the gameplay anyway, just being able to experience things that never were

  4. sturmi0545 says:

thanks so much for this post. I’d love to see WoWp revived again, too, although the introduction of bots did a lot of good to the game.

I’d love to see a WoWp-revival. Is there any way I could support the cause?

    1. well unless you know of a way to contact those lazy ass devs so i can tell them some things they have to fix, there’s nothing really you could do.
This is probably the best thing i could do to somewhat boost it’s popularity.

      1. Well they do have the Spitfire, so it’s either Hurricane or Swordfish, but maybe they’ll be added later. One of the latest branches added was the P-47 Thunderbolt line.

      2. I have a Hurricane IID, my favorite plane of ww2. its a prem. one thing about WoWP is they have a lot of planes that are prem and actually rare – by wot standards. 2-4 times a year. unlike wot they have maintained rarity of the prems intended to be rare. there are still plenty of prems in tech tree/store, and some that are common (like available for a month at a time, a few times a year), but there are also some i have been watching for for years, still havent gotten.

You say that as if no other big game company hasn’t ever done the same. Time and again. Like EA. Yet people keep flocki g back when EA drops a nee NFL game. Don’t get me wrong, if a game is bad, then the game should die. But WG has an opportunity with the other lines being successful, it has the ability to make an officially failed game something new and interisting.

      1. SMGJohn says:

That is as ridicules as saying just because my neighbour stole a plasma TV therefore I should steal an even bigger TV!

  5. No, thanks. I was among the Beta testers for WoWp : we told them about all the massive problems that their game had – they didn’t give a shit and brushed off every feedback as “players don’t know shit about our game anyway”. The release was as much a disaster as expected.
So once again : no, thanks. There is a limit to how much you can deserve a second chance.

      1. AdmiralFishHead says:

Nope. As a media blog focused on news and facts rather than reviews, you cannot expect to write a positive review about a well known failure of a game, give no valid points on why its better other than “ooo, WoWP has Swedish planes!” (wow dude, Oh wow dude this is almost as good as Sega DOES what Ninten-DONT slogan), and expect no backlash or accusations of being a sell out…. Who cares if they add all the paper planes in the world, it’s short on features and there are games on Android back from 2011 that have more dynamic plane gameplay.

      2. OrigamiChik3n says:

        To ADMIRALFISHHEAD.
And yet you seem to be ok with accusing him of being sellout without giving any proof of said fact? Wow dude, oh wow dude.

      3. Well to be fair, it wasn’t Admiral who accused me of being a sellout, it was Vegan who accused me, also considering what admiral said: I never claimed Wowp to be a better game than WT, i am well aware that WT is better. I myself just enjoy Wowp a lot more. And the reason of me doing the post is to take people away from the game as it was in 2013-15, yes Wowp used to be terrible, but it’s pretty allright now.

  6. Vedrano says:

Just let WOWP die 🙂 If you want to have fun play the IL-2 Sturmovik series. And yes i know more about it, i’m a flightsim fan sinds 1996 and fly them daily, but WOWP fun-factor is extreemly low in every way.

      1. nocomment says:

        Once bitten twice shy….
As in I have seen how they develop games and with what aims. So not playing that “game” again.
        Comprehension?

  7. Narren says:

Look, I played WoWP on release. I was a big fan of the game, even with a lot of paper planes, which is kinda WG’s thing. However, I was really turned off by the cheese and the player community. I got to tier 5 or 6, at which point there were folks in Tier 7-8. Matchmaker was horrible so you’d get into a game with 10-12 Tier 5’s vs 2-3 Tier 7’s (who are queued as a group), and they’d annihilate you by being in a higher tiered heavy fighter. The fact that there were more of you didn’t matter, because the tier advantage was that ridiculous.

Those players’ responses were literally “Well, WG has a promo that we need to be the first person to Tier 10 to get sweet bonuses”, or “Well, we already have tier 8’s but we can’t get in games so we’re playing slightly lower tier [higher than you] so that we can get into matches. It’s not our fault that WG’s matchmaker sucks.” I tried complaining about it, and as part of a longer post I said, well, you can look at the e-mail I received.

    “Narren,

You have been given a warning by moderator.

So I guess I have two questions:

    1) Did they actually fix the matchmaking and tier imbalance?
    2) Why would I want to go back to a community that’s moderated by people who think this kind of thing is appropriate?

    1. a ton has changed in 3.5 years. lots of MM changes, teams are balanced very well, not accounting for player skill. it can be frustrating to get against a team who has a pilot that is godlike.

  8. Oh yeah, another hitpoints arcade game. No thanks, was in closed beta, didn’t liked it for even one game. Let it die, perhpas they learn something of it. Playing a game doesn’t interest WG, they want money, not features or balance. Live your dream of a revival.

  9. VladCelTroll says:

The problem with WoWP isn’t the game. It’s the developer team. They are so lazy that, right now, they’re adding stuff just to be able to say that the game ain’t dead yet.
It’s sad to see a game dying due to the developers being total idiots and purposely ruining their game. Sincerely, the game could’ve been a lot better than WT. That game is terribly unbalanced. Also, their Ground Forces are junk compared to WoT or AW.

Yet another proof that WG is ruining their games on purpose. And I think the same will happen to all it’s other titles.

    1. it’s a personal view. I prefer the more realistic ammo system of WT of the idiotic hitpoint system. Shooting a metal core through a commanders hatch wrecks the hatch, not the whole tank in 5 shots.

    2. it’s a personal view. I prefer the more realistic ammo system of WT over the idiotic hitpoint system. Shooting a metal core through a commanders hatch wrecks the hatch, not the whole tank in 5 shots.

  10. sturmi0545 says:

important stuff: you have to activate the radar in the upper right UI! it’s deactivated on default! and believe me, you need this.

  11. sturmi0545 says:

one of the more significant gameplay features of WoWp is the fact that the daily missions are divided into a low-, mid- and high-tier part. this way, it makes sense to keep a few of your favourite low/mid tier planes forever to be able ro do those missions.

one of the biggest WoT flaws is the way WG has made low tier tanks useless AND unplayable due to the noobplayer overload, and missions forcing you to always move on to higher tiers.

    1. sturmi0545 says:

not to forget the other things WoWp does better than WoT:

      – you earn loads of free XP for keeping planes in your hangar (plane anniversaries), free XP which can be used in WoT!

      – for doing daily missions, you earn tokens, which can be spent on hangar slots and premium months, which give you the premium bonus in all 3 games!

      – some of the battle achievements also get you reward tokens

in WoT on the other side:
      – want to collect tanks? 150/300 gold per garage slot! sucks.
      – no Cr/Xp- reward for battle achievements, which is kind of retarded.
      – want to concentrate on doing your personal missions? prepare to never see your tier V or lower tanks again.

  12. sturmi0545 says:

I’d love to see WG combine their trilogy somehow. one big game wont happen. that would be awesome but require a damn lot of development competence, which is WG’s biggest weakpoint.

BUT having a huge global CW campaign, involving all three games, with clans fighting for air, sea and land superiority, THAT would be incredible.

  13. wolvenworks says:

    couple issues here:
-WOWP is not available in SEA, they don’t want to trigger a shitstorm. in fact my WOWP acc is in EU
-in general i suck at flying. was manageable back on the OBT, was not during the post launch era that made most ppl ragequit. if the flying has improved to obt era, i’d give it another shot because i miss my Zero and Buffalo Prot.

      1. wolvenworks says:

yeah sure play in that server where WG has no control over and is totally proven to be so filled with P2W deals the good chinese guys moved over to SEA SG servers….

  14. Still “investing” some time and money in it because of the French premium that show up lqtely in the game but the shooting (peas) noise effect are just too simple. Pew-pew-pew! Thats really goes to my nerve!
I also think that the pay to win “Golden” ammo is even worst than on WoT! Its a huge difference when you use them or not!

  15. Herman Klein Nagelvoort says:

Of course you have to played it once…., this bad game. Because of all the gold you get!! This gold can be used in WOT. I dont like wowp and never will like it. I hope it will been removed from the WG list. Bad advertising

  16. george raptis says:

    my dear co player Mizutayio

i am not a very active on forum or blogs gamer therefor you can say my opinion never weights
but as an alpha wowp tester and sim fun for over my birth
I AM SORRY TO INFORM YOU THAT THIS GAME IS DEAD PERIOD AND THE REASON IS THAT THE development teem dint laesen the community of the testers at all
the problems with the control of the fly model is not be fix yet for ex in warthunder you can on arcade mode perfome 80 percent of combat manouvres with mouse and keyboard in world if warplanes the percentace is less than 30 percent now (you can ques what was then) that was the main reason that many players leave the game the simply cant play of enjoy it (if you cant have fun why to bother)
    and not to say much
a good test how many time dint you reverse the dogfight situation in wowp when you have the six of the enemy how many time he manage to get your six you can count is less than your hand figers
(speed overshoot – ground / aerial crush do not count)

THE THING THAT THE MARKETING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT THE GAME AND FAIL

  17. Horcan says:

I do play a few games every now and then even im not great at this game, not really a plane games fan, the only reason i still do is the possibility to win free premium that i mostly use on WoT. THere were attempts like this to bring people to WoWp but they all fail to do it from the casual player point of view, and that is exactly what this game lacks. The casual/average important part of player base. And this category of players move away from this game not because some god knows what strange plane isnt in the game, the camera behave different than you want to or the controls. For a game to be succesfull for casual players it have to deliver the fun this kind of players look for. And thats the illusion that they are somehow good at this game.Which this game fails to deliver because it is extremely unmercifull to beginners. What does a casual encounter when it start playing this game? 3-4 minutes of dead time, until they meet an enemy, which most of the time is one of the two possibilities. A poor player that just fly and he take like 10-20 seconds to destroy ( due to bad accuracy a new player have ) or an ace that just put him away in 2-3 seconds. This is the reason new players stay away, because they cant understand how they try to kill a plane and it take 15 or more seconds, but the next minute they are killed by someone in 2-3 seconds. And what are good players actually do? They dont try to help newbies , but instead make overpowered flights and rape noobs having fun with OP heavy german fighters. Most of the people i encountered and play with on this game quit because of this gameplay. 4-5 minutes of dead time, then 3 seconds of action. So this make me believe airplane games are mostly made for people who are fans of planes and familiar with this kind of games. Which you need to accept , its this: around 1000 players at the same time ( which actually is far less since a good part of those 1000 are actually not regular players ) .
And to answer to some of the comentaries here, as a WoT player and a lot share my thoughts : we dont want your frigging planes in our games! So play however you like, but leave tanks alone.

  18. Mario says:

the main problem is that wows is not easy to play… the settings are hard to understand, you really do not know what you’re doing. Low tiers are unplayable, like wot, but Wot is much easier to understand for new players

  19. Funny Farmer says:

You say the game is fun after tier 5.. wouldn’t the easiest was to gain new players be to make it fun from the begin with?

  20. Anonymous says:

Jingles can’t give another review on WOWP. In his last video about the title, he said he would never do another one, period.

Unless he wants to be proven a liar….

  21. Wa says:

I recently got sick of shit dispersion in wows (lol every shell missed that cruiser 4K away and now his torps killed you) and decided I wanted to play some planes. I checked both games but in the end I went for war thunder, because what is the point of playing a multiplayer game that doesn’t have any players.

  22. Sidonisis says:

Hmmm never saw P2W game like this. even on low tiers and even more at higher tiers withou using premium ammo you are doomed.
So tryed and sorry its not worth my time

    1. Hm i’ve never had ap roblem with premium ammo, in fact i hate using it since i think it’s useless, it doens’t do more damage than the regular ammo. Yes, it does deal either more critical damage or sets you on fire easy, but there are crew skills that can negate that kind of stuff.
Like: there’s this nice 1 point pilot skill that extinguishes every fire if you maneuver, or also a 1 point skill: Fire Resistance.
For the Module damagep roblem you’d have multiple choices as well, ( to be fair, you’ve gotta buy equipement to counter that but in combination with a skill makes it unlikely to get crippled)
First one is: Improved Covering and/ or Reinforced Airframe and/or Additional armor plates.
Skills that can counter high crit ammo: Resillience and Evasive Target, which works similar to the Fire skill that makes it that oyu recieve less damage when maneuvering and you also are more resistant to premium ammo.

and getting enough skill points to get these skills, or to get the credits to get the equipment is easy, the economy in wowp is pretty good.
you get a 1 point skill after a couple of games, even when you’re getting a 90% trained pilot, 2 and 3 points also doesn’t take very long.

    2. omglaserspewpew says:

Premium (gold) ammo is pretty much useless and I know of no good players that use it. Overall, premium ammo has much smaller impact on the game than in WoT.

  23. tyrranus says:

that article wouldnt make me want to play WoWp. Yet I play it.

for me it’s simple – free premium and amazing amount of free experience (without using gold) that you can rack up for WoT
    even being a mediocre player

  24. pilot says:

Is it already possible to change the controls the way you want them to be? I mean like yaw right could be by moving my mouse to the right and rolling right would be my D key and left A etc.. up and down W and S. I need full freedom with controls if I am going to play an air game since I flied for years in Battlefield games and I was pretty damn good in it.

      1. IT is possible to use: Mouse, Gamepad, Joystick

If you Go for Mouse and Keayboard, you can cange the Commands priority to Keyboard in the advanced settings. which means it prioritizes keyboard input over mouse input
which, when you change some things in the key assignment it pretty much the thing you should be used to

    1. BUBBAZANETTI says:

So, which is it? You “tryed” the game but gold rounds doom those who don’t use gold rounds so you don’t play? Or the extreme seal clubbers who have been playing for some time, and prefer low tiers, middle tiers, high tiers, because…you know, you want the vets to stop playing the game they enjoy so new players have a chance to try the game and either not play after a couple days, or keep playing until a year or more later when they’re now vets seal clubbing new players? Or maybe you’d like some sandbox/karma system? Or some non-competitive mode? Or balance so everyone wins every time? How about every plane flies the same as every other plane?

    2. omglaserspewpew says:

That’s because of the missions for tokens. They require flying in low tiers, otherwise many better players wouldn’t. Also, it’s easier to get tokens from medals in lowest tiers, that’s why you see many flying I-15.

  25. Garrano says:

the whole experience in the hangar is far superior in WoWP compared to WT. Having individual crew members you can train, selecting diferent equipment to optimize the plane, choosing diferent consumables; it’s just better. Also I like the way the tech tree is setup.

WoWP has a small but loyal player base. It also has daily missions that get all players into lower tiers to win tokens. Although this is a good thing because it helps to populate lower tiers, on the other hand it creates the ideal conditions for sealclubbing, not the best experience for new players.

The gameplay is fine is you have a good computer, comparable to WT…both have good things and both have issues.

  26. Malcata says:

Warthunder has far fewer players than World of Tanks. One is the reference for planes the other the reference for tanks. When you consider that some Warthunder players are there mostly for the tanks (what % I have no idea), this just tells me that the overall player base available for planes is quite lower than the player base for tanks.
So World of Warplanes was never going to be another World of Tanks in terms of player numbers, because it’s a planes game.

That said, WoWP is a nice fun game and deserves more than 1200 players at peak in the EU server (4500+ on the Russian server).
Arcade is Wargamings thing and they do it well.

From what I see, wargaming seems commited to at least “keep the doors open” on the game with frequent special events, new lines of planes and of course renewing the offers in the premium shop. Maybe we can expect some improvements and bug fixing, but big changes that involve big investments I would not expect.

I will keep playing it as my alternative game…after World of Tanks were I spend most of my gaming time.

    1. You do not feel that you have a real influence on the battle
    2. If you have faster and more maneuverable plane you win… or if you have slower and less maneuverable plane you almost always die.
    3. If someone gets on your tail you have almost no chance to do anything with that. You can avoid some shots but it’s matter of time when you die.
    4. Fighting 1 against 2 you have no chance to win.
    5. Bots are more annoying than those in tanks
    6. App has stability problems.
    – It hangs during loading into battle.
    – If you are disconnected from battle you cant back into it because loading screen hangs again.

      1. Quite the opposite – in WoWp a single player can have much bigger influence on the battle than in WoT. That’s why unica in WoWp have higher winrates than unica in WoT.

      2. Depends on the team makeup and teamplay. As in WoT, it’s very important to deal lots of damage early and you can’t do that in peashooters. Planes with good armament can decide the matches very quickly, but of course, if they get focused down, they have less of an impact.

      3. Only if you’re in an overall inferior plane. Otherwise you always have the chance.

      4. I won against 8.

      5. You bet they are.

      6. Yes, this thing is awfully programmed. But still, it shouldn’t hang like that.

  28. Brian says:

I’ve played WoWp since 2014 and have a WR of 62%. It wasn’t easy and still isn’t at Tiers 6-10. The bots at those tiers are programmed killers. That makes the game challenging. It’s a very good game.

    Reality of “complaints”:

    1. It’s an “arcade game” – Yes it is, but don’t fool yourself because WoT and WoWs are also “arcade games” no matter how you spin it. WoT is EXACTLY an arcade game but tankers can’t admit it. It bruises their delicate egos.

    2. I won’t play ’cause I get “shot down” – Yup, just like in WoT and WoWs if you don’t UPGRADE your vehicle properly, angle, deflect, or whatever, OR build commander/crew SKILLS you are going to get destroyed easily. You have to learn to master your vehicle properly. No different.

    3. GREKUS says “you have no chance 2 on 1” AND “faster planes win”. Yup, just like in WoT some tanks, like planes, suck…AND some are great. The games are DESIGNED that way on purpose. Yes you can win in WoWp 2:1 and I do it all the time.

Tankers just bitch because they can’t win in WoWp, but truth be told they don’t get “3 axis warfare”.

    Up, down, sideways positioning.

They are “flat landers” who only know how to battle on a single, flat plane, not in the air. It’s too complicated for them so they bitch.

The game is very good, improving, and aircraft graphics superb.

does wowp have weather effect? like wind will slow down or disorient your plane, u could use cloud as cover or mean to escape, or have smoke screen or something? last time a played wowp its boring. repetitive gameplay and not much terrance to utilize

  30. I already liked WoWP, so ill skip the part of this article about why to give it a 2nd chance.

I just want to THANK YOU for the settings changes recommendations, they were gold! I knew the plane always felt a bit sluggish but i had no idea the default was to “help me” by going semi-autopilot once i had locked onto a plane. thats great for pve but awful for pvp. once i took your advice it is a whole new experience!

so i already liked wowp but sucked at it, now i love it and mediocre haha!

This is kinda hilarious though to read comment from people who either never played it or havent in 3.5 years, who are trying to tell you about the game.
