Some new changes in the requirements for certain medals have been made to reflect the changes brought in update 9.18. Here’s what we have:
Awarded for destroying at least 2 (previously 3) enemy artillery with your own SPG. Cannot destroy a friendly vehicle. Random Battles only.
Awarded for destroying 4 tanks/tank destroyers in a medium tank. Destroyed vehicles must be one tier (previously two) above the player’s vehicle. Random Battles only.
Awarded for destroying at least 2 (previously 3) enemy vehicles in a light tank. Destroyed vehicles must be 2 tiers above the player’s vehicle. Random Battles only.
Awarded for destroying at least two enemy tanks/tank destroyers in a medium tank. Destroyed vehicles must be one (previously two) tiers above the player’s vehicle. Random Battles only.
Awarded for destroying two (previously three) enemy tanks/tank destroyers in a tank destroyer. Destroyed vehicles must be two tiers above the players vehicle. Random Battles only.

Lehvaslaiho’s Medal seems a bit too easy to get now…
Great, now every tomato is gonna feel significant with the lowered criteria for medals. I want my Burdas medal to be special, now it’s the same shit as Pascucci.
From an NA player they could’ve kept the old medals that were hard to get the same and introduced new ones for 9.18. The old medals deserve to be kept rare and memorable.
(P.S MM is a looooooooooooot better now don’t listen to the stupid fucknuts who still whine about it)
Yeah MM is better, a lot better to be sure, but there are still some issues with it… But these could actually be a relatively easy fix now due to the new MM…
These issues are: Now Heavies and Mediums play an even bigger role because the MM template pastes a set % of TD/LT/SPG per team given how many are available out of the 30 players… MM doesn’t take into account Heavies/Mediums though and there are many more matches now where a Heavy map features a team stacked with most of the games heavies vs mediums, or a Medium map features a team with most of the mediums vs the heavies. Because MM doesn’t take these classes into account currently. This obviously means the the team with the most of that class which the map design favors has a much easier time going through the match than the other team who has to work almost double as hard…
But this is a very easy fix now, WG just has to adjust their MM to evenly distribute the HVY/MED classes alongside the TD/LT/SPG classes…
With the “Even Distribution” of the available classes on any map with 30 players a team could still have mostly a single class on it, not 3 tanks of each of the 5 classes, but the other team would have relatively the same distribution also. This would make the games come down much more to team play and skill vs the soon to be current “Who got the most “Meta Tanks” for this map’s style”
The great thing about WG putting the MM changes in early is they can collect the live data, realize this fault, and easily fix it by the end of the year, if not sooner…
WG does need to pay attention to “Those stupid fucknuts who still whine about it” because most of them are like me who have invested a lot (6 years) of time into this game, and some of them are also Sandbox Testers (Like me) who want to actively see the improvement of this game… We do see the improvement, we are grateful for it, but we also see some teething issues in these massive mechanic changes that need to be ironed out… Good job on the patch WG, now you just need to polish it up better…
There are two kinds of people…those who offer contructive critizism and feedback and those who cry and say everything WG does fucks up the game and are only naking it worse. The “stupid fucknuts” are the ones I’m referring to, which unfortunately, are very common. Very well thought out feedback, WG did say it wasnt the end of the line for MM.
Indeed they didn’t, which is why I was happy that they introduced these changes fairly early in the year. It seems at WG Fest that these 3 changes were the Big 3 for the year, so them getting them implemented early means they can adjust them throughout the year and focus on actual new tank content next year, or HD maps…
Now change the MT-15 too since getting 2 TD above your tier is even harder now, let alone killing them
If you platoon with two td’s, you’re guaranteed to always fight at least two td’s 90% of the time
Yeah they kind of neglected all the other personal missions now that they put harsher restrictions on the amount of arty and higher tiers that are available in battle
I suppose, I mean, I normally never lived long enough in a tier 8 tank against 14 tier 10 tanks to do HT-6 but I only just got to the Obj 260 missions so I’m probably awful and don’t know what I’m talking about. My winrate also took a dive when I tried platooning with higher tier tanks to rig my matches. Wargaming needs to rework the team killing mechanics.
But honestly, got HT-6 with an AMX 50 100 after the patch, just yolo’d a tier 10 medium and one minute later, killed a tier 10 artillery. Was lucky the thing didn’t one shot me. Only reason I could do that was because the tier 10 only had a pershing for support and could not find his backside with a map and written instructions.
I’d be happy to help you with any missions you’re having trouble with. It’s more down to getting the right tank for the job rather than skill.
As for arty missions, the hardest mission is MT-7 for the 260 where you have to kill 3 artillery. I suppose that is pretty tricky now that there can’t be 5 artillery to kill. They did seriously nerf tier 6 light tanks however so if you gun around in something fast like a cromwell or Vk D, you can probably get it. I suppose it would be nicer to make it just 2 arty kills but I’ve gotten 4 or so Pascucci’s already with the 9.18 patch so that might be too easy.
so my Nichol’s Medal will have half of is own valor… scored at himmelsdorf castle between lot of tier two level up, firefight like far west high noon…
Yup, I’d suggest selling them before the new patch hits.

What about the medals that needs to be changed.
Gore’s medal is near impossible now for many arty now.
Not really haha, my clan mates and a lot of replays show artillery still being able to do 4k damage or more on a good game. The main difference is the russian medium tank to german heavy tank comparison. You do less damage but more reliably than before.

Counter-Battery award got changed because the new MM made it almost impossible.
Then why isnt the Counter-Battery MT mission for Obj260 changed aswell ?? It has the exact same requirements and is already completely random in the current game because kill-stealing and shotgun make chasing arties hard. I’m stuck on this thing since october and I’m apparently gonna have to wait another patch before WG ever changes it (if they do) to fit the new MM :/
