Crew is crucial!

With the release of Update 1.5.1, we’re introducing a new feature, Crew Books, allowing you to speed up training one or more crew members by instantly adding a certain amount of Crew XP. You can get Crew Books:

  • As rewards in various game events
  • As free items from Rewards for Merit that drop with a certain probability when playing Tier V–X vehicles
  • And some types are available for Credits.

Let’s take a closer look!

General Overview

Crew Books are consumable boosters and disappear immediately after use. Each type of Crew Book has its own value. The higher the value, the more experience a crew member will receive when used.

Crew book 2-224

In total, there are four types of Crew Books:

Training Booklet

Boosts the entire crew of a specific tank. Available as a Reward for Merit.

Training Guide

Boosts the entire crew of a specific tank. Available as a Reward for Merit, it provides a greater amount of Crew XP compared to Training Booklets.

Training Manual

Boosts the entire crew of a specific tank. Available as an in-game event reward.

Personal Training Manual

Boosts a specific crew member of your choosing. Available as an in-game event reward.

Crew book 3-225

Training Manuals and Personal Training Manuals are the most valuable Crew Books as they provide you with a huge amount of Crew XP. Personal Training Manual offers a fixed amount of Crew XP to a particular crew member, their fundamental difference when compared to the other Crew Books.

NOTE: The Personal Training Manual concept is not yet finalized, so these Crew Books will be introduced once we fully complete their configuration.

Can I Purchase a Crew Book?

With the release of Update 1.5.1, we’ll credit each player with an initial set of Training Booklets (one for each nation, 11 in total), and you will be able to get Crew Books for free through in-game events. However, you will also be able to purchase Training Manuals for Credits.

NOTE: Purchased Personal Training Manuals will provide you with Crew XP, but not with Free XP!

Once upon a time I used to have a great range of tanks I could use in just about any type of tournament (tier and tank type), and they had damned good crews in them, with at least 4 skills. I was very proud of what I’d achieved in World of Tanks.

And then WG started releasing a deluge of over powered premium tanks, many of which are considerably better than their tech-tree tier-mates. I lost the pride I felt in having a great range of tanks researched and elited.

But I hung on to the pride I felt in my highly experienced crews.’

Then WG started selling +100%, +200% and +300% crew boosters.

And now WG is outright selling crew experience.

Now I have no pride left in what I’ve accomplished. Now I have no reason to play this game.

poor baby hans will no longer be able to farm players with bad crews anymore 🙁
      so sad

u dummy this is a good change, crews take to long to get all the skills. most tanks are made useless or op only because of crews, thats how important it is.

Game is true pay 2 win.. Its sad and unfortunate.. I feel you too… I got 5 perks on my lights.. Its going to be a real red flag.. But least I can club people still in my su76i and pz2j

      1. Robopon says:

How buying crew exp is pay 2 win? If you can get it for free the it’s 100% not pay 2 win.

I think this is a great way for new players to catch up on us more seasoned guys. What I’m getting out of your comments is that you prefer to continue being seal-clubbers.

With a perk system like this : http://wio.ru/strat/wot-exp-eng.htm
    I am not so surprised.
    max crew =95484 xp
    Perk 0 to 1 =210060
    Perk 1 to 2 =420120
    Perk 2 to 3 =840240
    Perk 3 to 4 =1680480
    Perk 4 to 5 =3360960
    Perk 5 to 6 =6721920
    Perk 6 to 7 =13443840
    Perk 7 to 8 =26887680

you can make the rest of the math.

  4. you spoiled kids don’t even know what it’s like to work your way through the tech tree, starting each new tier with with a stock tank and a 50% crew.
    😀
I understand that people prefer to pay to avoid the grind (and avoid learning the good old hard way), but instead of creating crew books and such it would have been enough to finally give every commander 6th sense right from the start.

but heck, at least WG is visibly working on their game. mostly on newly created issues rather than 8 year old classic ones, but still.

      >starting each new tier with with a stock tank and a 50% crew.
Since I wasn’t stupid I’d move my crew WITH the tank paying only credits for the retrain, and would dwell in the previous tank till I had enough free exp to put it towards the most critical components on the next tank.

Now what I’d really like to see is having where the crew books can be gotten from crews if you dismiss them since WG has been throwing 100% crews with BIA around like they’re going out of style that I don’t need.

Great now that we can get better Crew with decend amount of perks, its time to rework & add new perks!!!

Some perks are totally useless and some new ones woudnt hurt.
On console they have some unique perks we dont have.

New skills should include: “Prog 46 Alert ” when playing Frontline – this enables you to run away in your Tiger ll. “Map insufficient warning” – this is when you need to freeze more maps than the two you already have. “Ding Dong” – for games at T7 when you have to try to pen T9’s. “Up and Under” – a tunnelling skill when your crew can actually tunnel under cover when you are faced with 3 art. “Mary Poppins” – this skill is a radical change in WoT. When researched to 100% it actually prevents enemies from drowning themselves! No escape for these pussies now 🙂

  7. Pss… man, did you hear that the world of tanks has a new season of ranked battles?
