Exclusive footage of new HD maps and improved physics

Hello,

things today are very quiet, Wargaming is having a hangover Monday after the WGL GF but here’s a video footage of the upcoming HD maps and improved physics:

What do you think?

The maps look nice but I have a question or two. First are they fixing the maps when they are making them in HD? Because as we have been told they are not releasing new maps this year. Second are they finally using the havoc engine we where promised back in 9.0? That might be interesting to say the least.

    1. As u see destroyed objects collapse in pieces, it is probably small use of Havoc. I guess there is problem with optimisation so for now they are using it only on small objects

Wow, I should not reply to messages first thing in the morning… What I meant to say is, No they are not making changes to the maps, just more detail…

They did one hell of a thing, the maps look just so much better than the crap we have on PC right now.

Hey Wargaming PC, here is a novel idea….. How about giving us back our old maps that we ALL enjoyed, instead of deciding on your own what is best for us? The US Console division gets it, why can’t you hard headed Belarusian’s get it?

    1. Long story short, game balance, physics update, and integration from an environment several patches ago is expensive as you’d probably end up rebuilding the map from scratch.

Otherwise, it’s a decent idea but making anything HD is cheaper than rebuilding something from scratch. There are alternatives like building a map for only low graphic settings but that’s a whole new bag of worms and not an absolute solution.

Console could get away with it because their specs don’t change as much as PC and they have a core system they can always count on. There are other small details you skimmed over but that’s the summary of the counter argument.

this looks fucking awesome :O still wondering how they wanna make these graphics run on potato machines

  5. It’s like that girl you met in highschool a bit overweight.

Now she’s been working out for the past 5 years, got a banging boob job, is all dolled up and ready to party.

    I like it.

wait i thought they shelved Havok physics indefinetly? did they suddenly get the urge to work on it again now?

I am very doubtful about that CellFactor-like objects destruction. Certainly looks epic, but judging by how big fucktards wargaming is, it is just some demo features that will be implemented SOON (aka NEVER).
