there are some changes being some to a couple maps:

Paris

 

Stalingrad

        Did you consider the map any further than the number of routes?
        I can see use for every kind of tank, don’t know about you though.

      3. I’m not one to cry about corridor maps, but I always found Stalingrad the way it is fine. Granted, it can be improved.

        But limiting the routes is bad for mediums and lights. There are three big funnels that lead to a grinding chamber. On the original map, there are those 3 funnels but at least they gave you away out of it and into it.

        Just a bad decision in my opinion

        Then again, the first version has so many fucking roadblocks between route and and buildings, that it might be more locked off than the announced version.

        I hated Stalingrad since I found out a IS-9 was faster than my Type 64. And turned better, and had a better gun.

    Stalingrad still looks like StalingSHIT to my eyes same just bigger dam corridors
    if as map looks bad then it is so why is it still around

    Other maps we like (many open maps) get deleted in a stroke yet StalingSHIT keeps on going – yet its NOT deleted?
    Russian bias no doubt so just suicide asap as in this usual this corridor heavy tank only brawling crap map

    Unless I’m in a Heavy tank then its seal clubbing time anyone not in a heavy tank

      Yeah, I’m seeing several open sight lines that go across just about the entire map now.

      Also, the area just east of the central square looks like it no longer has cover from it, which makes it unusable now, when it used to be a decent place to go.

      The large number of buildings and such made it a really good map for finding flanking paths before. It could have used some tweaks to get rid of dead ends and such, but this looks really boring.

    Stalingrad needed to have the random rubble and indestructible wood removed/reworked but they’ve basically shrunk it to the middle section of the map and there’s so many straight lines to shoot down. I wonder if this is because of the FPS drops people were complaining about? Fewer buildings, fewer polygons.

    I don’t know about you people complaining, but to me that’s a nice Stalingrad. It never was an issue unless I was in artillery, as expected of a city map.

    The new stalingrad could be good depending on where the rubble piles are in those streets.

    You’ve got 2 safe alleys west, one safe alley mid-east. I’m not seeing any areas that are unflankable.

    As long as there isn’t great cover at the entrances to the central park, it becomes a mid-risk/reward area for flanking. If there is good cover at the entrances, it’ll be a no mans land.

    Stalingrad honestly was ok…now its more like fuckin Karkhov in that its a straight fuckin corridor map with few paths to take compared to before where it had different positions to take allowing for more agressive gameplay.

    Definate downgrade in my opinion

HOW FUCKING RETARDED ARE THESE DEVS, THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH STALINGRAD’S CORRIDOR STYLE MAP, THE FACT THAT IF YOU WERE IN A LIGHT TANK AND YOU START GOING DOWN A STRAIGHT AND YOU FOUND A JPE100 THEN RIP YOU BECAUSE ALL THE SIDE PASSAGES WERE CLOSED, THERE WAS NO ESCAPE OR KNOWING WHERE THE TD WAS.

    YET THEIR SOLUTION IS TO REMOVE ALL THE FLANKING PATHS AND MAKE IT EVEN MORE CORRIDOR???????????????

    ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO WAS OPEN UP THE CLOSED OFF PASSAGES ADD SOME MORE RUBBLE TO PLACES AND YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A DECENT MAP, AND SERIOUSLY ARTY IS NOT AN ISSUE ON THIS MAP THE GAMES ARE DRAWN OUT LONG ENOUGH FOR THIS TO NOT BE AN ISSUE.

    DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE FUCKING BEST THING IS, THIS IS ALL AFTER ALL THOSE PEOPLE VISITED CYPRUS AND BOTH SLAVA’S SAID WOT’S PROBLEM WAS CORRIDORS AND LIKE NO WAY TO FLANK, AND THEN WHAT DO THEY FUCKING DO???????????? LIKE SERIOUSLY DO THEY EVEN FUCKING LISTEN TO WHAT EVEN THEY THEMSELVES SAY??????????????????//

    In all seriousness the only good map they designed is Ghost Town and that isn’t even for randoms, in fact if they just fixed the edges of that map there you have it a perfect map for randoms, and do you know why? because it isn’t closed off corridors like streets in New York, it’s like complicated Spanish streets, in which some cross over and some don’t so you can escape situations if your tank is fo the type and flank, an if your tank relies on armour it can point towards a threat or stay close enough to team mates for support.

One of the maps that was actually historically accurate, they just threw it out of the window and now there’s even less flanking positions… He houses have just been made bigger, so we still can’t go through the ruined buildings… How will this possibly make the map better?

  12. OK,I see what they did there and it makes sense.
    Take the West for example.
    There were just too many corners and positions you could take and they were separated by buildings making access from one position to another difficult for a slow heavy.
    You could take such a position and find that the enemy had sent 3 tanks there and you were basically dead.
    Too random.
    Now you can react to whatever is lit up on the map, get or give support on demand and before it’s too late.
    That was the main problem with this map for me, I felt that my performance would be completely down to luck, depending on team deployment.

All the alleys and approaches, ambushes, flanking… Do you know what wil happen right now? A GOD DAMN HIMMELSDORF IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN! 15 TANKS PARKED AND NOT MOVING ON TWO CORNERS, SPITTING AT EACH OTHER! This is such bullshit!

    They made one of the worst maps in the game even fucking worse, nice.Removed nearly all cover near the beach, made it soo much more corridored in the city, removed the few flanking options available and I don’t even see any cover in the city itself besides the actual building blocks\s. GG wot

  16. So in order to remove the corridors on Stalingrad they remove most of the extra routes to get around, thus making the map have bigger corridors and making it even worse for flanking in light or medium tanks…. Pro Strat right there…
