Mark VIII Tank “The International”

1918 US Army Tests & Demonstrations

Film footage of the US Army tests of the Mk VIII , a US-British co-development, also known as the Liberty or The International. Mark VIII production was too late for their use in WWI. After the war, about 100 of these tanks made in the US were used by the US Army until more advanced designs replaced them in 1932.My thanks to the original up-loader Jeff Quitney . Very interesting video! Also worth noting that a modified replica of this tank was used in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, if that inspires a little nostalgia.

WOT already has Rudy and Fury, where are the TV/movie tanks from the other countries?

      1. They actually built a whole new tank out of an excavator vehicle, as opposed to using one of these, although the design was undoubtedly based off this. It was slightly smaller and different sized.
