I could have sworn they said they wouldn’t release the Obj 279. If true, this is yet another broken promise in a long line of them.

This tank isn’t the 279. It has another serial number which I can’t recall (might be in the 600s). I imagine this conversation went down in Minsk:

“Ivan, we should introduce Object 279 into the game. It has been fully tested.”

“But Boris, we said we won’t release the Object 279, it is only for testing”

“Then call it the Object 279 Early, all will be well Ivan.”

        “Da, good idea comrade!”

The morons at WG are hell bent ok killing this game. WTH with the Obj 279, or what ever they call it….. it has NO place in the game.

      1. Robopon says:

Why it has no place in the game? It’s 1947-48 obscure prototype, nothing too crazy here.

Don’t worry, if you are not arty shitter Leo 1 is all you are going to get!
Promoting that healthy, dynamic gameplay of being stunned every 2 seconds, you see.

    1. Yomir says:

Ha! You wish! You will need to track all 4 tracks simultaneously to track this bullshit tank, didn’t expect that, huh?!?

      1. Anonymous says:

lol that tank could still move slowly if it got tracked once. If it was double tracked on one side then it would be immobile

  1. OrigamiChik3n says:

Every single source that i’ve read about Bobject 279 states that it was a bitch to steer. In Wargaming language it has comparable, or even better, traverse speed to many tier 10 heavies (not SUPER heavies BTW) with conventional suspension.

  2. Infernal969 says:

It’s really nice of WG be concerned about my HDD space and incentivize uninstalling this Russian Bias Simulator.

    1. Sytricka says:

Have you seen the mission that you have to complete to get the Obj.279e. only the top 0.5% of players will ever unlock this tank

      1. Infernal969 says:

Oh, yeah, it’s rare so I’ll lose to it with a smile on my face. Problem solved.
It’s not only the tank. It’s the arty shitter missions, it’s the ridiculous goldspam that will start once people will try to force ace wankers, etc.
Those missions are going to be as toxic as the last batch.
The funny thing is that with the idiotic power creep Obj 260 was OP as fuck when it got introduced and now it’s average at best. Can’t wait for the future!

Am I the only one wondering why they don’t include other nations for these special campaign tanks. 1st Campaign: German, American, German (Soviet in disguise), Soviet.

This campaign: British, British, Soviet. wtf, where is the variety? They should have done something like this: British, French, Chinese, Japanese.

I swear WG doesn’t give a shit about these are nations and simply want to milk out more Russian fake objects.

  4. will see players complete and get the reward tanks within weeks. games broken, too many cheats, I get tracked first shot most games, then ammo racked from an enemy on the move sniping…with a supposed “poor aiming russian” gun platform. WoT needs an active anti cheat system IN GAMES.
