Hello,

there’s a new patch on Sandbox and these are the patchnotes:

“This patch contains both parameter changes that concern the SPG vehicle type in general and changes to specific SPGs. There are changes to vehicles with weak armor protection (Leopard 1, AMX 30B, Bat.-Ch‚tillon 25 t) as well as to vehicles with great armor protection (Jagdpanzer E 100, Maus). While the former did not fare well in terms of their performance, the latter started to dominate the battlefield.

 

SPGs

  • Reduced the aerial damage of HE shells from the edge to center. Now the damage is distributed more evenly. This change is made in order to increase the probability of hitting the target with splash damage.
  • Changed the formula according to which the penetration of SPG HE shells is calculated. Penetration of SPG HE shells has increased two- to threefold compared to the previous iteration.
  • As in the first iteration, stun now affects vehicle reload time. Now, stun affects reload time even more.
  • Changed the duration of stun. On average, it has increased by 10%. This change was introduced in order to fix the issue where stun was always applied to vehicles that were standing at the edge of the area of stun’s effect and that did not receive any damage.
  • Adjusted the protective properties of Consumables and Equipment against stun:
    • Fixed the issue where Chocolate decreased the duration of stun by 30%.
    • Large First Aid Kit now decreases the duration of stun by 5% instead of 10%.
    • Superheavy Spall Liner now decreases the duration of stun by 15% instead 20%. General properties of the Equipment piece are retained. This piece of Equipment works well against the effect of stun.

 

Vehicles

  • Object 261:
    • Penetration of the F-600D shell for the 180 mm B-1-P gun changed from 18 mm to 40 mm.
  • The T92 caused too little damage compared to other vehicles of its tier. Therefore, some changes were introduced.
    • Reload time of the 240 mm Howitzer M1 changed from 58 s to 55 s.
    • Damage of the HE M146 shell for the 240 mm Howitzer M1 changed from 1,250 HP to 1,300 HP.
    • Penetration of the HE M146 shell for the 240 mm Howitzer M1 changed from 24 mm to 46 mm.
  • Conqueror Gun Carriage:
    • Penetration of the HE Mk. 18 shell for the B.L. 9.2-in. Howitzer Mk. II changed from 24 mm to 47 mm.
  • G.W. E 100:
    • Penetration of the Gr. 18 Stg shell for the 21 cm Mörser 18/2 gun changed from 21 mm to 44 mm.
  • The Bat.-Châtillon 155 58 underwent significant changes. The new characteristics will allow players to influence the course of battle more and be more mobile.
    • Traverse speed of the Batignolles-Châtillon 155 mle. 58 suspension changed from 12 deg/s to 18 deg/s.
    • Traverse speed of the Batignolles-Châtillon 155 mle. 58 turret changed from 10 deg/s to 8 deg/s.
    • Dispersion on the move and hull traverse with the Batignolles-Châtillon 155 mle. 58 suspension increased by 67%.
    • Number of shells in the magazine of the Canon de 155 mm gun changed from 4 items to 3 items.
    • Rate of fire for shells in the magazine for the Canon de 155 mm gun decreased by 20%.
    • Magazine reload time of the Canon de 155 mm gun for the Batignolles-Châtillon 155 mle. 58 turret changed from 80 s to 60 s.
    • Damage of the OE M101M4 shell for the Canon de 155 mm gun changed from 700 HP to 750 HP.
    • Penetration of the OE M101M4 shell for the Canon de 155 mm gun changed from 15 mm to 37 mm.

 

Roles

Combat effectiveness of fire-support vehicles was deemed insufficient according to the results of testing. These vehicles were changed to play their role better, especially when it comes to medium and long range combat.

  • M48A1 Patton:
    • Dispersion on the move and hull traverse with the T97E2 suspension decreased by 17%.
    • Aiming time of the 105 mm Gun M68 for the M87 turret changed from 2 s to 1,8 s.
    • Reload time of the 105 mm Gun M68 for the M87 turret changed from 7,3 s to 8 s.
    • Dispersion on turret traverse of the 105 mm Gun M68 decreased by 33%.
    • Suspension traverse speed changed from 35 deg/s to 40 deg/s (not reflected in the interface). o Engine power increased by 20% (not reflected in the interface).
  • STB-1:
    • Dispersion on the move and hull traverse with the STB-1 suspension decreased by 27%.
    • Aiming time of the 105 mm Rifled Gun for the STB-1 turret changed from 2,5 s to 2 s.
    • Dispersion at 100 m of the 105 mm Rifled Gun changed from 0,35 m to 0,4 m.
    • Traverse speed of the STB-1 turret changed from 25 deg/s to 30 deg/s.
  • Leopard 1:
    • Aiming time of the 10,5 cm Bordkanone L7A3 gun for the Leopard 1 turret changed from 1,9 s to 1,5 s.
    • Reload time of the 10,5 cm Bordkanone L7A3 gun for the Leopard 1 turret changed from 7,3 s to 8,4 s.
    • Dispersion at 100 m of the 10,5 cm Bordkanone L7A3 gun changed from 0,3 m to 0.28 m.
  • AMX 30 B:
    • Dispersion on the move and hull traverse with the AMX 30 B suspension decreased by 55%.
    • Reload time of the 105 mm mle. F1 gun for the AMX 30 B turret changed from 8 s to 8,7 s.
    • Dispersion on turret traverse of the 105 mm mle. F1 gun decreased by 50%.
    • Dispersion at 100 m of the 105 mm mle. F1 gun changed from 0,33 m to 0,36 m.
  • Bat.-Châtillon 25 t: on some occasions, the vehicle was running out of shells before the end of the battle. This significantly decreased the vehicle’s effectiveness, so we took the decision to increase the vehicle’s shell capacity.
    • Shell capacity of the 105 mm mle. 57 (D. 1504) gun changed from 32 to 40.
    • Reload time of the 105 mm mle. 57 gun for the Batignolles-Châtillon 25 t turret changed from 40 s to 33 s.
    • Dispersion of the 105 mm mle. 57 gun changed from 0,45 m to 0,38 m. o Number of shells in the magazine of the 90 mm F3 gun changed from 6 items to 4 items.
    • Shell capacity of the 100 mm SA47 gun changed from 30 to 40. o Shell capacity of the 90 mm F3 gun changed from 36 to 40.
    • Number of shells in the magazine of the 100 mm SA47 gun changed from 6 items to 4 items.

 

Changes to Individual Vehicles

  • Owing to its great armor protection, the IS-4 was highly effective on the battlefield. To keep this vehicle within its role, the rate of fire of the vehicle’s gun was decreased. At the same time, gun stabilization on the move was improved to make firing it more comfortable for the player.
    • Dispersion on the move and hull traverse with the IS-4M suspension decreased by 19%.
    • Reload time of the 122 mm M62-T2 changed from 12 s to 13 s.
  • T110E3: according to player feedback, the shell capacity of the 120 mm AT Gun M58E was increased from 27 to 54.
  • T110E4: the premium shell for this vehicle was excessively effective compared to other vehicle shells and was changed because of this.
    • Penetration of the APCR M112E1 shell for the 155 mm AT Gun T7E2 changed from 375 mm to 311 mm.
  • Grille 15: improved shell characteristics in order to make the vehicle play its role better and to increase its effectiveness at long range.
    • Penetration of the Gr. HL shell for the 15 cm Pak L/63 gun changed from 307 mm to 320 mm.
    • Penetration of the Pzgr. shell for the 15 cm Pak L/63 gun changed from 275 mm to 300 mm.
  • Jagdpanzer E 100‘s armor protection has become a lot more effective in the new environment. To balance this vehicle, the penetration of its shells was decreased.
    • Penetration of the PzGr 46 shell for the 17 cm Pak gun changed from 300 mm to 253 mm.
    • Penetration of the Gr 46 H1A shell for the 17 cm Pak gun changed from 329 mm to 280 mm.
  • Maus. The vehicle has become a lot more effective and is starting to gain popularity among players. The main objective of the vehicle is to serve as the team’s shield. We have retained this role of the vehicle, but are decreasing its gun’s effectiveness, at the same time.
    • Aiming time of the 12,8 cm Kw.K. 44 L/55 gun for the Maus turret changed from 2,4 s to 2,7 s.
    • Reload time of the 12,8 cm Kw.K. 44 L/55 for the Maus turret changed from 12,2 s to 14 s.
    • Dispersion on turret traverse of the 12,8 cm Kw.K. 44 L/55 gun increased by 67%.

 

Known Issues

  • When armor absorbs damage from splash of a hit from an SPG, too much stun is applied.
  • If a vehicle is penetrated with an SPG’s HE shell, no stun is applied.
  • When a vehicle is destroyed in one hit, the sound of stun continues to play until the end of the battle, in the Garage, and in subsequent battles.
  • The sound effect of stun is played quite loudly and for a long time, which muddles the overall sound ambience.
  • When stun is stacked up through hits of 2x SPGs at the same time (and the first applied stun is stronger that the second one), the second, weaker, effect should be activated as soon as the first one expires, whereas now the first, stronger, effect is prolonged instead.
  • Incorrect display of vehicle markers when viewing information upon pressing ALT: the name and vehicle icon intersect.
  • When the effect of stun is applied alongside with detracking of the enemy vehicle, assisted damage is only earned for the action of stunning.
  • Upon successive damage to a vehicle from 2 SPGs, when the hits reach the target in the following order: 1st SPG, 2nd SPG, 1st SPG, assisted damage of the second SPG is not counted.
  • When spectating the battle after destruction of the player’s vehicle, which was under the effect of stun, the stun indicator is not displayed for other allied vehicles.
  • When driving an SPG with alternative aim enabled, the player can aim outside the map’s boundaries.
  • When switching to spectate an allied vehicle in the battle after destruction of the player’s vehicle, which was under the effect of stun, the sound effect of stun is not played.
  • The stun indicator is not displayed if an SPG hits the vehicle that is already stunned at the moment when the previous stun expires.
  • If a stunned player returns to the Garage, the indicator on the map/minimap will be displayed until the end of the battle for all allies and enemies.
  • On mouse over a Premium shell in the Maintenance window, the pop-up shows the price in credits.
  • When a replay is viewed, markers of shots of enemy SPGs are not displayed on the minimap.
  • In shell info, the penetration falloff value at 100 m does not reflect the real data. Instead, the default value from the shell’s parameters is shown.

    JPE now has less pen then all mediums, almost all heavies (3 more mm pen then some) and 1000 less DPM then 65 KPH Soviet mediums as well, in exchange for…… absolutely nothing. I cannot believe how stupid WG is being.

    Fuck them, fuck this sandbox. Nerf to Maus, cuz 80% player are from RU server, and cant aim for shit. Now lowest DPM, as is on normal server, and so long aim time, to tank that need to angle turret.

    For me, sandbox can be fail now, they can ballance nothing. Jpe100 with this pen gonna be useless. Who gonna play it? moron.

    I am at sandbox, and this server, WG idea, adn way they ballance game is pure joke. Still ballance game, and old stupid way.

        I pen 5 of 6 times Maus in IS 4, on 50 meters. If that mean, Maus armor is OP….GL. I dont use gold on sandbox, I can pen Maus, how his armor can be effective ? U have 260 pen on AP….in IS 4, AMX 50 b, T57 have 290 AP…..

        JP e100 will die, cuz of pen drop, with that low pen, u cant do much, and for C&C, u have two weakspots….so JPe100 is dead and gone.

        It is only beloved because no one is shooting HEAT at it. Even the high pen guns struggle to pen the flat areas from a small distance because of the dramatic pen loss. The Maus has always been good when no one is shooting gold at it and this proves that.

    I’m sorry, what? How does increasing duration decrease area of effect? Does sandbox’s coding include some arty version of the Ideal Gas Law or something, because that’s the only way I can find logic in that statement.

      They do have much better gun handling in exchange, so they can easily use their mobility or take pot-shots to protect themselves. Still, the accuracy nerf to the STB and AMX-30 does seem a bit harsh.

    1. Just increass hull armour to what the 183 had in the first test: 177/152/152. Call it an Assault tank (same as IS-7 amd T110E5)… Would then have similar armor, mobility and gun handeling. Personally I think it would be good for the FV

    I believe that the STB-1 has the fastest reload of all the mediums for its 105 mm gun (same gun as used on the Leo and M48). Yet its reload was not increased as was done on the Leo and M48. Why not keep the accuracy on the STB-1’s gun and reduce the reload?

    1. Because the DPM is what STB is known for, what makes it different than all the other mediums. Finally its not on par with the Russians, it actually has substantial more DPM @3000, more than any other tank of its class. The 0.4 accuracy isn’t something I like though, seems a little bit exaggerated and we all know increased RNG is total cancer for the sake of this game.

    I understand that they have to give a lot of tanks more ‘ammo’ but it would really help the game play if they just lower the price of maintaining a tier 9 or 10 vehicle, rather than increasing the cost of maintenance… For example the shells for the BatChat are what… 1k a pop? If you go tough 40 rounds in one match, you just simply threw away 40k down the drain on average, just on reloading your shells… This doesn’t include the repair cost…

    This is also why I’ve been playing more AW than WoT lately, it is so discouraging to play a game, and win, only to lose more credits in the end, so not rewarding…

      The reason of this is because it encourages players to play lower tiers/premium tanks which make credits. If tier 9/10 tanks had the credit making potential why would anyone play lower tiers? Just a thought, because those tanks aren’t supposed to make credits in the 1st place.

    Honestly, I find these sandboxes changes increasingly aweful. I specialize in medium and light tanks and its just not fun to play these nerfed at all. I’d rather play the 113, 50B, E5 or 57 Heavy.

    Gg now you are a turretless Maus unable to do anything because of low pen and low dmg (for its class, tier and reload this tank is getting worse and worse…). With the way they make AP lose pen on distance, the lack of mobility, the new accuracy model which is even more rng than before… they went almost from an extreme to another. give him his pen, its not a first line tank in the first place, and the dmg nerf was huge already.

    Its funny lol. Especially since player feedback is obviously counter to their complaints.
    I say good for WG, this is going in the right direction and I cant wait to see the final result.

    I really wish WG would be honest and properly balance all the vehicles. All the Tier X mediums are useless now except the Soviet ones. It’s not coming up in the dev Q&As because the Russian players probably feel that they should be the best ones.

    It is wargaming ideea of how can make moore money on this…they just blind us with things like the role of armour in game and other bullshits…wake up guys nerfing acurracy, distribution o shell inside the target aime, the rapid loose of penetration of shells, nerfing penetrations, are the means in wich we are going too loose credits when we play…
    How?…simple…the shell cost is the same as before, but the shell is not penetrating as befor, is not hitting the target where you aimed it and do less damage as befor(tank destroyers).
    Overall you’ll loose credits for each shoot that you missed the target or you not pen the target.
    From my calculation if this mockery is going to live server we are going to win less credits than before…less with 40%.
    That means, that even with premium most of us are going to loose credits in tier 10.
    If we loose credits WG wins money because players will buy premium time moore often and moore premium tanks to cover the credit lost in tier 10 battles.
    Many players will buy for real money credit packages…not only gold.
    Wg knows that many players are addicted to premium but there are many that are not using as much (guys with 5-10 gold shells in a tank) so nerfing pen is a way too force even moore players to use premium ammo. Moore premium ammo moore credits loss for players, moore credits loss for players moore real money for wg.
    I guess that they prepered for us allready a nice, juicy expensive consumable for killing the efect of the arty stun instantly.
    If i remember corectly nowbody asked WG for accuracy nerf, reload time nerf, dispertion inside target nerf, the rapid lost of penetration of the shell, etc…people asked for faire mm, and the problem of arty. Nowbody asked for the shit they throw at us on sand box.
    Some of us asked for removing the premium shells…why wg are not listen?…because they earn a lot of real money from premium shells boght with gold or with credits by people…so you woun’t ever see the premium ammo dissapeared in this game.
    Don’t eat anymore the shit they throw at us and don’t let yourself be manipulated by them…this changes are ment just to make us pay moore real money in the game….and that is not a problem…but they should not advertise the game as free to play anymoore.
    For me, i have a great pleasure to play on live server than in sandbox…the frustration is too big in sandbox. A game should be fun to play but sandbox server is far for biing fun.

      I tried to explain the same thing, guess people just ignored that fact, as everything you said is true. The game is going to ‘pay to win’ but hey, if people are going to accept this I’m most certainly not, ill keep playing AW until Wargaming decides to get their head out of their asses.

      Game isnt fun anymore, just a struggle to get anywhere, or anything….

Just because the number of new players are going down compared to the first 1-2 years is pretty logical and natural for any online game, but more new players doesn’t mean more money, since old players are constantly paying too and keeping the profit high. Its their most successful game by far, and the biggest money maker.

        Maus still have falt 240 mm armor on turret front, try pen e3 on 100 meters. Jp e100 with 253 AP pen, will be worse them most HT….So sandbox is big fail….90% os players in sandbox are russians, and they cant play this game….

      3. If you are shooting ufp you are retarded and it’s only possible to penetrate is7 ufp with 260 if he angles it like a donkey. The lower plate on the other hand is penetrated by 200 on the Maus and by 220+ on the is7.
        Not to mention the glorious Russian side armour which means the is7 has pretty much most of it’s side covered in glorious 500mm effective black hole technology and some spots are actually effective over 900mm on the side….
        Oh and the is7 turret is almost completely impenetrable from any angle from any gun. Unlike the Maus who has a thick but flat turret. The rear can be easily penned by tier 10 and the front and sides if you wait until he flattens it is also an easy penetration.

    1. Because the E4 is worthless… and now it has something the E3 doesnt.
      Currently on the live server the E3 had a better gun,and better mobility.
      And the E3 got a ton of changes with the gun too, pretty dure the new one is more ROF/skill based

    90% the whineing here is by people who dont even have access, if not more. They of course have no idea how it plays.
    Also pretty sure its against nda. Which was put in place so people wouldnt cry cry and cry more because theyre afraid to change.

    what i’m afraid about SPG stun is the potential to effectively stunlock a tank from reloading simply by just shooting at him at high intervals using fast reloading tanks (like the BC, Bert, BIrch, and Bishop). in theory, that means someone is prevented from reloading since if you get stunned each time you get shot, and other arties shoot you (or a bert keeps barraging you), you can’t reload since every progressive hit extends the reload stun

    i still prefer AW arty since it’s somewhat accurate, but with a damage per shot that’s lower or equal to the MBTs. the accuracy also means you can TD mode and somewhat defend yourself against other tanks in close quarters….kinda like arty in the old times, but with less damage

    I feel as if this is a huge slap in the face for players that have been around since beta. I’ve ground out 13 tier 10 over the course of 5 years and have kept tanks along the way that I love to play. I chose the tier 10s that wanted to get for specific stats and used money and time to earn them. This is complete bs when every hard earned tank that I have grown to love and have hundreds of battles in and good crews will become completely different tanks then what I worked for. Wg will slightly nerf a tank or change some parameters or even replace it (waffle)and people go crazy. Yet no one seems to realize that literally every tier 10 tank is going be replaced with a different tank… The only think to stay the same is the 3d model. Got the grille for mobility? Sorry! Got the jpeg for alpha? Sorry! Got the 30b for sniping? Sorry!

    They have literally changed everything about every tank. You won’t even recognize or enjoy playing your favorite tanks anymore and have to research new ones that fit your taste…

    Wg should give me free exp and credits for every tank that I don’t want anymore because it’s no longer the same vehicle I worked for.

    Believe it or not, shooting things at a distance still takes skill. Shooting things at less than 100 meters is like a fps. This isn’t halo 3. It’s suppose to reward smart play. Who needs brains when you can Yolo out and not die because nothing can pen you or hit you? Just bully low armoured tanks by cornering them because they won’t be able to hurt you until you are within 100 meters. When armour becomes king, it will kill the game.

    Weak spots and good accuracy and pen allows skill so that a tier 8 tank still stands a chance against a tier 10. What’s the point when you need to pray to ring even harder to be able to hit th3 lower plate of a one shot e5 in your stb1 when it’s on you to win the game? Can you hit? Will it even pen if it does? While the noob in the heavy can just drive into the open and gang bang you. I’ll quite if this sandbox crap hits live server. The game is amazing as is… why ruin a good thing?

    Good-fu*king-morning! What did I say 100 times before!? If you drastically nerf the penetration and dispersion on all the tanks + take away gold shells, then you will get mega over powered armored tanks.
    Why WG cannot learn from their own mistakes? If you change something, change it just a little bit not nerf by 400% everything and then check what happens, as if you couldn’t predict that..

  32. I rushed right in SB to see if the update made the so far “Major Failure” game better. Well I didn’t think it could be worse but it is. I could hardly stand one or two battles before I had to quit but now I can’t wait for the round to end to get out of this pos SB. If you like to play a game where you shoot a tank with tier X armor with a tier II gun so WG can rob your credits this is it. All this SB looks like is a way to scam players of more money.

    The cartoon looking game will make you gag if you like the current game, these are like bad mods being forced on you. All the years of nerf and balances we have endured is all tossed out the window. The very little I’ve seen that I like is clouded by the major abortion of the game.

      Kinda agree with you. The game is far from good at the moment, but with some arty rebalance, viewrange nerfs for all the tanks, viewrange buffs for the lights and making it impossible to oneshot kill any tank on any tier, will fix the game.

      And remove corridors. Corridors are fine, as long as flanking stays possible. Just like on Steppes and Sandriver. You can climb over those ridges and flank, but you can’t climb over buildings. So fuck citymaps.

      Oh yeah, remove small maps like Ensk and Mines out of high tier gameplay. That shit is fucked.

        Urban maps work just fine as long as there are side streets to give lots of flanking opportunities. Enks is good for this, Ruindorf/Winterdorf less so. Mines is currently too small for high Tiers, but if view ranges are being reduced it may be better in future…
