Supertest: GSOR3301 AVR FS

The upcomeing British tier IX

First we have the official blurb without any stats. Then stat, compare and tech tree  screen shots and to finish in the wild pics.

Today, our Supertest server will see a brand-new challenger: a British Tier IX light tank with a complex name — GSOR3301 AVR FS.

It has all the distinctive features of the new UK branch of light tanks, including small dimensions and high concealment. As for its firepower, the top configuration of the vehicle has a 90-mm gun and that is why you’ll love it:

  • Very decent penetration rates: 232 mm for a standard shell and 254 mm for an APCR shell
  • Great stabilization when the vehicle is stationary
  • Accuracy matching the vehicle’s peers (dispersion at 100 meters: 0.36)
  • Good aiming time: 1.9 seconds

However, there are two factors that might eclipse your joy: moderate rate of fire (6.32 rounds per minute) and mediocre stabilization when firing on the move. Moreover, the armor of the vehicle is far from being sturdy, which is typical of all light tanks. The GSOR3301 AVR FS has 1,250 HP and is handled by three crew members.

Just as its Tier X successor, this vehicle will shine when used for passive spotting and fire support, as it has everything it needs for this role: small dimensions, a spotting range of 390 meters, and high specific power (37.2 h.p./t). The GSOR3301 AVR FS can quickly change position on the battlefield and arrive precisely when you need its recon powers or fire support.

Passive spotting is mostly a thing of the past these days, now that the wheelchairs are in the game. Somebody should go tell Wargaming.
