Casement TD’s have a stat for how quickly the gun traverses. For some reason it is still listed as “turret traverse.”

    1. Teknokraatti says:

Up to this point, actually every tank has a turret. S103 might be a exception, though I don’t claim to know how it will play. It’s just made cleverly so that TDs, SPGs and some other vehicles can’t fully traverse their gun by limiting the traverse angles.

You might not believe me, but getting my turret damaged in a JT88 when I got a penetrating hit by M53/55 makes me believe that. Besides, it’d be the most simple method. Just set horizontal and vertical traverse limits to tanks and you’re good to go.

Its HP/ton is 20, it doesn’t matter that the engine power is under 200. Ground resistances are right around 1, which means you can expect actual 20 hp/ton performance; hence it will be quite mobile.

The IKV (Infanteri Kanon Vagn) (infantry canon wagon) is a design for Swedish defensive doctrines of those days. All of our “odd and special tanks” are built for Swedish tactics.
Read up a bit on the development of the STRV-103 turretless MBT (the s-tank)
It gives you the insight on why we Swedes constructed them that way.
Contemporary tests made in US/UK showed no drawbacks in turretless tanks. As gyrostabilisation was not yet on the scene, most tanks of the day still had to stop and aim to have any kind of accuracy.
I know there is a debate on wether to call them TD’s instead, but as defined the STRV103 is a MTB and the IKV is also a tank.

Why does the ikv103 105mm have less damage than the previous ikv102 105 because the ikv103 should have more damage with it being the next variant

  3. Infernal969 says:

    300 alpha, 12 gun depression and 20 hp/t.
Compare this to S35 CA and tell me that this game isn’t getting powercreeped into oblivion.

    1. OK, I compare it for you:
S35 CA – 300 dmg /165 mm penetration or 330 dmg /223 mm penetration (kappa).
The base pen is fine for dealing with most T6 “heavies” and many T7’s. With the APCR you don’t even need lube.

@IKV 103 – this thing will have problems penning some T6’s already.

Do you see this difference? Can you say, with straight face, that S35 CA got powercrept?
      Imo it’s niche is unchallenged.

FTR – T67 still shits on both those tanks. Just as it did 3 years ago, so nothing changed.
