    1. Speeditup says:

And who said longer gun should be more accurate, accuracy is a more complex matter,it is also related to dynamic and gyroscopic stability and the type of ammunition and many other factors.

      1. Drak. Barrel length does affect accuracy. But a long barrel is not always accurate. Theres a ton of physics that go into it besides making the barrel long. Theres a certain efficiancy between the weight of the projectile, the speed, the twist of the barrel, and the length that all come together. Ever wonder why the us army chose 168gr instead of 165gr? Because its the most efficiant weight the 30-06 used. Because of that the army used a twist rate and barrel to stabelize the round most.
Longer barrels are never the final say in accuracy.

      2. wolvenworks says:

IIRC longer barrels mean better accuracy at longer distances, but it has terrible accuracy at closer ranges, barrel gets in the way, it’s heavier, and aiming it takes more time because admit it, aiming with a long stick isn’t easy

      3. They all use the same ammunition..
Wolven.. longer barrels mean better accuracy at all distances even close ranges, and no the barrel does not get in the way. Aiming would not take as long this is a tank not a person wielding a external weapon… it’s all mechanical on a machine.. not a person.

      4. zombietropa says:

Brock, aiming time in a tank does sort of depend on the length of the gun, as its length effects both the weight and so its balance. A longer gun is harder to balance, whereas short guns, like the British 2pdrs, were so well balanced, that elevation was adjusted using a shoulder brace instead of elevation gear. Also a long gun does get in the way at close ranges, just ask Panther crews fighting Shermans in forests.

And using the same ammunition? Just wondering how you know this, as a gun can have several types of shell developed for it over its lifetime, all with different ballistic characteristics, APBC being more accurate than APC, etc.

      5. GrimmReaperBG says:

I do. Speaking of modern warfare and especially guns you are right, but here we deal with guns made in the late ’40 of the 20 century. And yes, in this time period longer gun equals better accuracy!

    1. wheeledtank says:

Maybe they are replacing vehicles by playstyle rather than “Crew Training.” I don’t use premium vehicles much, and when I do, I don’t really use them for crew. I can understand the problem if this is the “replacement” though…

  1. Deano says:

a 212 pen 240 damage 90mm on a ht that doesnt have premium matchmaking and probably wont be fast is a terrible idea. its acceptable on a reasonably quick medium but a big slow ht? no that way too little alpha. things like the cdc work with that pen amount because they can see holes in the enemy lines and move to exploit those holes to get flanking fire at least while that hole exists before a tank or 2 come to stop you peppering tanks that are focused somewhere else. this thing will not be capable of that sort of thing. it needs a better gun i mean i think the caernarvons gun is crap so this is just terrible.

    1. Jurrunio says:

Even the T32 only has 198mm pen with its 105mm gun and it’s accuracy is a lot worse (0.41)
If T26E5’s current pen is bad, then T32 is ready to be replaced (I hope so)

      1. Deano says:

the difference is id bet the t32 will not only be more consistently mobile and have id guess overall stronger amour. the t32s 105 has 1 clear advantage and thats it 320 alpha per shot. the 320 alpha per shot will always make people think twice thanks to the extra 80 alpha per shot. also the t32s increased flexibility also means that its easier to make use of its lower pen. also in the current meta its the perfect time to grind the t32 considering everyones picking mobility over amour these days. so the lower gun pen makes very little difference.

  2. Popcornhead62 says:

Love seeing premium tanks that are better then their normal counterparts…
This is even sadder though is just the Pershing with more armor. Which already exists in game as the super Pershing. “Oh but it has more health” Unless this replaces the super Pershing their is no reason for it to exist

    1. rubberboas says:

If anything its going to replace the T34 because its super old and probably has hit market saturation.

Also thing thing’s pen and DPM isn’t utter trash like the Super P’s is.

  3. Blade William Mckenzie says:

I thought I was looking at the T23E3 and I started to get excited, thought they might be bringing the tank back only to read the title and get instantly dissapointed, I own the T23E3 on PS4 I really wanted it badly on the PC.

    1. IndygoEEI says:

Don’t worry s there is E4 which adds HVSS and better tracks. That means if WG releases it and to the public we get a version better then those who got it from CW.

  4. Anonymous says:

Well, is it 152mm frontal armor sloped or the actual effective thickness? I mean the tenk seem similar to a caernarvon, but with worse penentration. It is a premium, it should be worse than the t32 in all ways of course. I would give it 198mm pen and 240 alpha because it has thicker frontal armor than t32 and better mobility.

  5. Renarde Martel says:

Wouldn’t be surprised if this thing actually ends up being an MT and replaces the Super Pershing, considering that I’m pretty sure somebody from WG said the T25 Pilot apparently will be ‘special’.
MT firepower, MT viewrange. Mobility is iffy, but it IS above averagely armoured and at least it’s better than the T26E4.

If this is going to be a HT, it should be on tier 7. That’s the limit for 90mm guns on HTs, IMO.

    1. GU7 says:

Its pen, and damage says other wise for tier 7… This would fit right in with tier 8, as it has not only armor, but a half way decent gun. Still funny that this thing has more armor than any other tier 8 american tanks in the game, other than the SP, and that thing is questionable…

Honestly if it was offered, I would take this thing over the SP, by stats, but I would have to drive it first, or test it out before anything else to understand what it is… Probably has a better top speed too…

      1. Renarde Martel says:

You know that this thing is apparently classified as a heavy, right? Are you saying that a 90mm gun is sufficient for a tier 8 heavy? Because it isn’t. The only heavy tank that has a 90mm gun is the FCM 50t which gets preferential MM and the Caernarvon, which is generally loathed for not really being better than Centurion 1, otherwise the only tanks using similar guns are tier 6 (ARL 44’s long 90mm) and tier 7 (Tiger 1’s 88mm and AMX M4 with the same gun as ARL).

At tier 8, 90mm guns are for mediums, not heavies.Heavy tanks should have higher firepower.

    2. rubberboas says:

This thing would be monsterously OP for tier 7. The Sturer Emil and AC Mle 1946 would be the only same-tier tanks in the game that have any reasonable chance to pen it without resorting to prem spam.

      1. Renarde Martel says:

Funny you should say that, because it has a cupola, machinegun port (150mm but it’s flat) and a LFP to shoot at. Plus, the sides are only 76mm. Frontally, it’s probably weaker than an O-Ni which has no real weakspots.

    1. ndiver says:

@Killswitch: Sorry to contradict you, but the expert on US tanks Hunnicutt clearly classifies the Pershing as a medium tank, and during its development, is also designed as medium tank, which is logic considering that the Pershing is coming from the T20 project which is since the beginning a medium tank made to replace the M4 Sherman.
Moreover there was already heavy tanks in development by Americans (T29 and T3x), including one based on Pershing components (the T32).
You are maybe confused by the fact that the Pershing was supposed to fight the German big cats (Panther and Tiger I), and that he is bigger than the M4.

    1. M4 Sheman (Fury, A2E4, Improved, revailosewhatever,…), : couch
      T-54 clone (Type59, T34-3, T54Mod1) : cough
      T-44 (T-44-100, T-44-122, T-44-85): cough

Remember, we have only 1 Pershing premium (Its Super Pershing), dont mistake Korea Patton are Pershing

  6. In a Tier 10 battle which it will see a lot of ~ it will be killed or farmed for easy WN8 as all Tier 8 tanks are
BUT worse! as its a Heavy Tank and has a really bad power-to-weight ratio (WG balance hey ho) so it will rarely escape being slaughtered at 40kph which likely will be a more realistic 30kph with that weak 500hp engine
AND btw its got a 90mm Medium Tank Gun! with low alpha and yet its still a Heavy?

WG your the best ever please never change trolling your customers (lol!

  7. just the 1 thing badly wrong with this new Premium T8 Heavy
the gun – Gun: 90 mm Gun M3A1
~ Its pathetic for a Heavy Tank that will see T10 tanks and a lot!
    Alpha just 240! 240????

lol WG just rip the piss out of T8 all over again
worst credit maker ever looks like ~ nice for farming WN8 with over power T10’s though

    Damage: 240/240/320
    Penetration: 212/259/45
