can not reply to secret squirrel directly: My most played Tank class is not Arty, first it’s Medium Tanks, after that the Heavy Tanks and shortly after that Arty. I do not have problems with Artillery at all. I know how to play them and i know how to play against them. The only thing i personally hate about arty, is when there are more than 2 per Team. So i guess the people who eat crayons while playing like little Kids are the ones who complain about everything without even knowing the thing they complain about. I know all tank classes (except the light Tanks (i suck at the scout role 😛 )) and i know how to counter/play against them, thus i do not complain about them.

well you could take it as WG giving a last chance to ppl to nuke others with the T92 before the global rebalance, but since it will probably take alot of time to arrive (if it arrive), its just WG doing what it does best.

Somebody needs to keep a log of server population during the event. I am curious to see if people really hate arty as much as they say, i.e. leaving game because of arty.
Oh trust me they do. My friend left because of Arty and RNG and to be honest I was thinking about leaving as well. Arty is just way too annoying if you are green and above.
Indeed. Fucking XVM color sniping is what makes arty so terrible for so many. And arty is annoying only when you drive agile tanks with good camo. Try and drive anything thats easily spotted and too slow to wriggle out of the arties aimcircle and it changes from annoying to excruciating.Take T32 for example. I friggin LOVE this tank, but i cant play it since 9/10 games i get right now are with 2-3 arties – Which go and keep shitting on me nonstop until im dead the very second i appear on a frontline ridge to do my job as a heavy. Even in Tier10 games…
I love nothing more than my tier 8 medium getting focused down by a platoon of 3 T92s.
Then its XVM remove that color sniping and you cant get sniped.

They will never see 10 miss, just when arty hit them…stats say the truth. First arty is in 67th place in average DPM list.
Thats also a big reason why arty is so shit. No fun to play against, and no fun to play. There is maybe 5% of the skill involved (map knowledge, leading shots) that driving a normal tank needs, the rest is waiting for the circle to shrink, click, see if RNG awards you with a hit and then wait ~40 seconds until your next shot is ready. Or, you know, simply turn your hull and do a snapshot at that ~50kmh medium on the other side of the map, which in my experience has a rather similiar chance to hit than waiting for the aim circle to shrink. And of course there are also the cases where you shoot something when it moves away a split second after the click – But you still smash it with a onehit because your shot deviated into the right spot…
They should patch this class out of the game. It doesnt do the things it was supposed to do, it doesnt really offer anything to the gameplay, and you cant patch it in a way where it doesnt cause grief to people. Just give people invested Silver/Gold back 1:1, add the grinded XP 1:1 to free XP and make the involved crew members nation and positionless like the girl crew members, so people that invested in those lines can choose something new, while the developers can use the surplus time for fixing maps and balancing the rest of the tanks. That said, the maps imho need a lot more fixing than everything else, and that would be much, MUCH easier without arty. Just imagine what you could do in map design without creating 95% pinata zones for arty…
/sigh. But that would be smart and easy, so WG won’t do it 😉

While i don’t support the insults, i must still grin at the camping argument. The joke here is that arty doesn’t actually prevent camping. You get pissed off too much by a few RNG hits? Just take a spin with something that can snipe, camp hard and abuse spotting mechanics. Arty will only try to shit on you when the rest of the team is already dead and everything comes at you, otherwise you have your peace. The tanks that get shat on first are always the ones on the frontlines…

I have a fucking 75% hit rate across most of my arties. As long as you aim it hits anything. Sure there’s so much retarded bullshit RNG. And that’s what makes it broken for arty players.
However the stupid XVM focus and the fucking retarded alpha along with the inconsistent play of it makes the game completely unplayable for anyone else.
In any other game in history a support class deals small buT constant damage, not a fucking alpha strike nuke every 40 seconds. In every other game a support class can use team buffs and enemy debuffs.
Artillery was broken from the moment it was introduced into the game. WG have shown their incompetence by after 5 years not doing anything to fix it.
Rather get hit or splashed by an arty then hit by a deathstar anyday.

Average damage and DPM are different things, you may want to look it up. If you are a true believer of stats explain why someone playing all arty trees can’t become a unicum player (RNG says hello).
And there is still the “XVM sniping” argument. While for most (99%) players there is no such thing (but while would you be sniped if there is a better player to click on…) and it looks like whinig I will try to explain it from the other side.
If you get into a battle and XVM predicts that you have 30% chance to win and you can see a platoon of unicum players on the other side It gets pretty obvious that if you kill that platoon you can affect the battle result the most. So with XVM you get a advantage against a player who doesn’t use it. And that’s where the EU servers (very weak) cheat rules can be used as argument that XVM is giving a unfair advantage.
