Hello,
if it has tracks I’m interested, Valkyria Chronicles is being remastered for PS4, watch the trailer:
Description:
In the world of Valkyria Chronicles, the year is 1935 E.C., and the continent of Europa has been plunged into the Second Europan War between the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance — also known as The Empire — and the Atlantic Federation over the precious resource Ragnite. The Empire is sweeping through the continent like an unchecked wildfire and has its eyes set on the rich Ragnite deposits of the Principality of Gallia. Although peaceful Gallia remains neutral in the conflict, its citizens will need to defend home and country against the inevitable invasion. Follow Lieutenant Welkin Gunther and the vaunted Squad 7 of the Gallian Militia as they take on the seemingly insurmountable forces of the Empire.
Valkyria Chronicles Remastered features:
• HD “CANVAS” Graphics Engine – The stunning, painterly graphics return, but this time in 1080p/60fps high definition quality! Battles and cutscenes are conveyed like a vibrant tapestry in motion.
• “BLiTZ” tactical battle system – Part overhead turn-based strategy, part RPG, and part real-time 3rd person shooter, the” BLiTZ” system is an innovative mechanic that makes battles simultaneously strategic and action-packed. Players will command and control their soldiers and tanks as they take on the Empire in 30 different battlefronts.
• Memorable storyline – Set against the backdrop of a world war, Gunther, Alicia, Largo and the rest of the fierce members of Squad 7 fight for personal reasons in the name of freedom, and the hope against all odds of liberating Gallia from Empire control, all in the face of the terrible realities of war.
• DLC Included – Besides the core game, Valkyria Chronicles HD includes all previously released DLC: Hard EX Mode, Edy’s Mission, Selvaria’s Mission, and Challenge of the Edy Detachment.
I personally don’t own any consoles except for N64 (15 year later and the thing still runs, is like a damn nokia!) but my best friend owns a PS4, will try to convince him to buy this game and get his opinion on it.
This game is actually on PC!

The original version, not the “remastered”. But even this is an excelent game.
Uhm.. isn’t that the remastered version? Full HD, all DLC? The bullet points on steam and what Rita quoted for the PS4 seem to be the same..
Analysis of port:

Bit more complex, but it is likely much closer to announced PS4 version, then PS3.
This was one of my favorite games from the ps3. Quite unique. I also played the sequels for the psp. I hope they consider remastering those as well.
Just a warning, this game is ultracomplex and very hard. A tiny mistake leads to a sure failure. It can be very frustrating. And setting up a group of soldiers for a mission is high science. The storyline is excelent.
Well, it’s not exactly for retards, but compared to stuff like Jagged Alliance 2, VC is walk in a park.
Lame
Doesnt offer half the amount of cheats wot has 🙁
2/10
Wow, that looks as good if not better than the Anime. Always liked the tanks from that show.
Yeah, the anime was kinda… bad.
Atleast in comparisson.
Some of the story elements were cut out and the focus was mostly on fan service rather than the game’s (really good) story.
Fun game. If you’re looking for a Band of Brothers style, super serious war game I’d look elsewhere.
However, if you want a challenging (very challenging sometimes) little strategy game with a unique control system and cool characters, I’d definitely pick this one up on any platform you own that it’s available on.
Unless the PS4 Remastered version does something drastic to the gameplay or the story, I wouldn’t try to convince your friend to get it on a console you don’t own and, therefore, would find it difficult to play it on. Go ahead and get it on Steam, especially if it drops in price, and play the crap out of it. Great game, solid mechanics, beautiful graphics.
Daamn, I didn’t expect to see a VC post here, kudos.
Bought the game for PS3, bought it for PC. Not buying literally the same game 3rd time in a row, no matter how great it is.
Also, about time SEGA made a full-fledged sequel with more natural cover system and AI that does not depend on numbers, positioning and primitive scripting.
Not that VC2 and 3 were bad, thay had a nuber of interesting ideas, but ultimately they can’t hold a candle to VC1 with their small and overused maps and needlesly complexified unit upgrading (giant swords and hammers…ugh…).
Oh and I want my Edelweiss in WoT garage 😀 It would make neat tier 6 medium, Škoda T40-ish performance in sleeker package.
Someone did a VK2801 skin to look like the Edelweiss.
I used to have an E75 skin, but it’s kinda problematic when visual differs from hitbox too much 😀
My favorite game of the last 10 years, it was THE reason I bought a PS3. I completed it on the PS3, then when it came out on PC I bought it and completed it again!
It’s a story you can’t approach cynically, else it will miss but if you get into the story it’s great, covering loss, racism, the holocaust, it’s a great game and I highly rate it.
Wasn’t expecting a VC coverage so this took me by surprise. This has got to be one of the most underrated games on the PS3. I love the series to death. Game is a bit difficult but the story, game, and graphics are all just beautiful. I’m a sucker for anything anime but this is much more than that. You made my day, Rita. Keep up the good work!
i actually found out abt Valkyria from Project X Zone…
Is it just me or the hangar from 1:12 to 1:15 is suspiciously familiar?
Anime autism? No, thank you.
Nothing wrong with anime, its actually better than 90% of the cartoons you see being released in the US with animation that makes even superhero cartoons look like they were cave paintings.
It’s a great tactical RPG, but some people I know are turned off by the anime style. If you really don’t like anime, then you won’t like it, but if you can look past that, then its a pretty fun and surprisingly complex game.
Just play it on PC…you’ll likely find it cheaper and if you look at the PS4 remaster they hardly did anything other than port the game to PS4.
