Several months ago Smellyriver stopped development of Tank inspector and it went open source here the Smellyriver site subsequently closed. The available versions are downloadable from here.
I have been using version 18.104.22.168 for the last three patches and have used it to check stat’s in the Common test server when it’s up without problems. To install download the .zip file then create a folder wherever you want it to run from then extract the zip to that folder then create a shortcut from TankInspector.exe in that folder to your Desktop and it should run from that.

Isn’t just easier to use Tanks.gg website? it’s nice to compare tanks and use the “live” view to actually see from a A tank where can we pen the tank B with any round …
tanks.gg is a lot easier nowadays. No hassles. No pain.
Tank Inspector was proprietary software, required user registration and required connection to a central server to work. It’s like a German tank. Complex and over engineered.
Bound to fail long-term after alternative competition surfaced.
Have you tried it since it went open source ? Not so I just download and use and have used it to compare Game client with test server client having put Inspector in two folders and linking one to each client!!!!
Wow, this version actually works. I was never able to get this to work with any version from the tanks.gg website, and had in fact just given up.
Thanks for the link.
PS, the Tier III Russian medium gift tank was a gift tank that never was. 🙁
In War Thunder we’ve got 3rd era medium russian tank for winning 5 battles.
Never really had any problem with it at any time… didn’t know there are people having issues
Tanks GG does not support camo value calculation nor penetration check based on different calibers/ammo types. It is pretty basic I would say and some stats are wrong. For example Cromwell B seems to have (used to when I last checked) way worse Terrain Resistance values than regular Cromwell, but it is the other way around.
And it was STI which was the first free so detailed stat-inspector for WOT 😀 This is why I check STI and even contributed on GitHub a tiny bit.
STI would be a great tool if people contributed. It can become better tool than any other tool like that.
BTW, why is there article about Tank Inspector but not vbAddict shutting down due to financial problems? C’mon guys…
