WoT Public Test 9.22 Object 705 Woopsie!

During my usual trawl through the Russian sources WoT Express had screen shots of the impenetrable stock turret of the Object 705. I investigated for myself and it was true the stock turret had 300mm of armor all over so that angled it swiftly rose to ricochet. These are my screen shots The all red turret is stock the other is the top turret.

I am seriously wondering how this massive mistake got through both moddeling and supertest. Does this mean that nobody actually looks at stock modules and what else would they skip on?

    1. Sytricka says:

Notice how this is a TEST server, stuff like this happens. In wt the H39 on its stat card still has a 75mm instead of a 37mm

      1. True, this is the test server. But on the other hand, take a look at what this already went through. Model testing, internal testing and supertest. That is still a lot of people not paying attention…

  2. Dracon says:

Not only this, but you lose nothing in gun handling or reload rate between it and the upgrade turret. The ONLY thing the upgrade turret provides is 10 more view range, 100 health and access to the 130mm gun.

    1. Yeah, except for one thing. This is not just ‘test’, this is public test. That is a lot of internal test phases this thing already went through without anybody noticing.

A public test server is great for testing balancing and stuff you need a lot of people for. Details and stuff like this should be fixed before it reaches the stage of a public test server.

Could you imagine if there *wasn’t* a public test and this made it through? Mass Hysteria

Granted, stupidly OP things do make it through PTS sometimes, but most of the time it isn’t a 300mm Turret I seriously do wonder how the people making its collision model and the supertesters didn’t notice; Too busy testing the vehicle with all upgrades?

      2. Somehow, I still can’t imagine how this made it through. They way we do our software testing, at least four other people review our work before it even goes out to a test application.

    2. Trololo says:

Dude, a public test is for fine tuning and finding problems only a mass test can reveal. This however is such a glaring oversight that it shouldn’t even have entered the supertest server. If there is someone who has no understand of test stages, test beds and test environments, then it is *you*, so why don’t you just stfu kiddo?

  3. MozzaBurger says:

Sometimes they make last minute changes between the various test phases. It could very well be that the turret was correct in their closed test and someone fucked up a tweak for the PTS release.

  4. Nom Nom Boi says:

I guess this will be a Russian equivalent to the Sherman Jumbo since even that has a stronger stock turret than when it is upgraded. I don’t consider this far fetched, but it’s not great either to be introducing and making a habit of when introducing new tanks into the game.

WG employees lately in a nutshell. Trying to get them out of the nutshell will result in your house being taken away by gopniks. You have been warned.

guys remember that this is still in testing, so approach everything with reasonable doubt. “Testing” means “not final yet. WIP” so save your shitstorms for gold shells

  7. Michael says:

300mm armour all round including the roof, so how does anyone except the commander even get in it? does he shoot and load the gun too?
